vivo Associate Scientist, Biology on the Research/Biologics Team to
help us expand what’s possible for patients with serious and rare
diseases. Reporting to the Scientist II, Research, you’ll be doing
rodent handling, dosing, fluid and tissue collection as part of
Insmed’s in vivo pharmacology team. The In vivo Associate Scientist
will collaborate closely within the team and cross-functionally to
plan and execute complex in vivo pharmacology studies, develop
custom animal models, and generate high quality data. What You'll
Do: In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to support Insmed’s
early-stage research pipeline, turning ideas into ground breaking
medicines for patients in need. You’ll also: Administer therapeutic
agents to rodents through a variety of routes (including
intraperitoneal, intravenous, oral, retroorbital, intrathecal,
intratracheal, subcutaneous, intracerebroventricular). Perform
blood collection through various routes (including submandibular,
saphenous vein, tail vein, cardiac puncture). Perform necropsy,
tissue collections, and perfusions. Monitor animal health, record
clinical observations, and maintain accurate study records. Assist
in developing, optimizing, and validating rodent disease models.
Collaborate closely with in vivo team members, vivarium staff,
internal project leads, and ex vivo analysis teams. Author and
review protocols and electronic notebook entries. Analyze and
present data to project teams. Follow institutionally approved
animal protocols, IACUC guidelines, and adhere to all ethical,
regulatory, and safety standards in an AAALAC accredited
environment. Who You Are: Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in biology,
animal sciences, pharmacology or related field with 5 years of
relevant industry experience or Master’s degree with 2 years of
industry experience. At least 2-5 years of prior experience with
hands on in vivo research including work with rodents. Expert
knowledge in standard rodent in vivo techniques (dosing, handling,
restraint, sample collection) Comprehensive experience in standard
fluid collection techniques including tail vein and saphenous vein.
At least 2 years of prior experience with and demonstrated
excellence in tissue collection and animal necropsy. At least 2
years of prior experience with and demonstrated success in
executing in vivo studies. At least 2 years of prior experience
with and demonstrated success in assisting with developing custom
animal models suitable for a variety of disease applications.
Experience with breeding and maintenance of genetically modified
mouse strains. Strong attention to detail, excellent record keeping
(E-note booking), and the ability to follow SOP’s and protocols.

Minimal travel expected Pay Range: $103,000.00-131,000.00 Annual
