To learn more about GSCY, visit our website: http://gscymca.org Somerset Hills YMCA is currently seeking multiple Swim Instructors to help swimmers of various ages and levels to build confidence in and around the water. We are looking for energetic individuals to support our mission in strengthening the community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. Hours: Various Shifts Available ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Maintains a safe, instructional, and supportive environment Teaches students the principles of correct stroke, water safety, and swimming endurance Teaches group classes to preschool and school aged children Develops appropriate introduction to a variety of water sports/activities Other duties: Arrives to work five (5) minutes before shift starts Wear appropriate and professional uniform/attire All other duties as assigned Requirements: YSL and/or WSI certification (obtain upon hire) Blood borne Pathogens Training within 60 days of hire SH YMCA Child Abuse Prevention Training within 30 days of hire SH YMCA New Staff Orientation Training within 90 days of hire QUALIFICATIONS: Must be 16 years of age or older Must have experience working with children Must have strong interest in teaching preschool and school aged children Experience with parent/child classes or willing to learn is a plus Must have First Aid and CPR/AED Certification (or obtain upon hire) Benefits of working part-time at GSCY include: FREE Individual Membership Access to any YMCA in the Nation. 10% Discount on most programming at Greater Somerset County YMCA.
