opening for two (2) Postdoctoral Associates for the Environmental
and Occupational Health Sciences Institute, located in Piscataway,
NJ. Under the direction of the Principal Investigator, the
Postdoctoral Associate positions will study how environmental
nanoparticles contribute to diseases. Environmental Nanoparticles
of interest include those emitted from wildfires, traffic and
micro-nanoplastics, the byproduct of degradation of plastics in
environmental media. Diseases of interest include neurodegenerative
diseases such as Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s, metabolic diseases of
the gut and respiratory health outcomes. The position will engage
in transdisciplinary projects that characterize the toxicological
effects of emerging environmental pollutants using advanced
cellular and animal models. Rutgers NAMC is known for its
transdisciplinary research on particle health effect research which
spans across exposure-mechanistic toxicology-disease continuum and
it is equipped with state of the art instrumentation for the
physicochemical and toxicological characterization of environmental
nanoparticles and their interactions in biological and
environmental systems. Duties include: Contributes towards
interdisciplinary research efforts in the NAMC Center by
participating in research projects related to environmentally
induced diseases and emerging contaminants. Participates in
collaborative research with other investigators at Rutgers and
other collaborative academic Institutions. Performs research
resulting in first-author, peer-reviewed publications. Analyzes

Sciences Institute ( EOHSI ) is an international resource that
supports basic and clinical research in environmental health
sciences and exposure assessment and fosters associated programs in
environmental health education and public policy. Established in
1986, EOHSI’s major objectives are to: Advance understanding of the
mechanisms by which environmental and occupational chemical
exposures impact human health. Identify and measure human
environmental and occupational exposures to chemicals. Treat
populations adversely affected by chemical exposures. Develop
educational tools describing relative risks of chemical exposures.
Contribute to public policies related to environmental and
occupational chemical risks. Offer training programs for
environmental health professionals. The Institute serves as an
unbiased source of expertise about environmental problems for
communities, employers and governments in all areas of occupational
and environmental health, toxicology and risk assessment. EOHSI
members are active as advisors to international, national, state
and local organizations on public health issues. Rutgers, The State
University of New Jersey, is a leading national research university
