Job Description Job Description About the Job: CTLGroup is
looking for current students for a Building Science internship, for
multiple offices (Chicago, New York), who will focus on both new
construction and existing building projects. This role combines
technical knowledge, communication, and field work for a wide range
of new and existing construction projects. The person will
collaborate closely with our in-house experts to gain hands-on
experience with applying classroom knowledge to real-world
problem-solving. Take the opportunity to learn more about the

Responsibilities: Work in all aspects of the building envelope
services, which include repair and restoration projects for
existing buildings and new construction projects. Assist with
construction monitoring, field investigations, condition
assessments, construction observations, project drafting,
structural design and analysis, and site inspections. Assist with
field review and other contract administrative duties as required.
Assist with forensic inspections of existing buildings to diagnose
failures or determine the condition of various building envelope
systems. Assist with research of new products and systems, support
our laboratory staff, and assist with test protocols as needed for
the servicing or portfolio of projects. Organize field data and
assist with research to facilitate analysis, problem-solving, and
repair design. Assist with writing reports related to field work
and research. Assisting with the preparation of bid specifications,
drawings, sketches, and various other deliverables to our clients.
Internal roles in the ongoing development of our technical
standards and design tools. Assist with drawing and specification
review for new construction projects. Assist with review of
submittals and shop drawings during construction. Qualifications:
Students should be interested in civil or structural engineering,
architecture or architectural engineering, material science, and
mechanical, electrical, or fire protection related to buildings.
Ability to communicate your interests and enthusiasm to learn in
these fields via. written and verbal communication will be required
during the interview process. Must have a working knowledge and
ability to use programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and Bluebeam
(or another PDF mark-up tool). Demonstrating the ability to use
Python (or other programming language) or an AI-based tool to
simplify a repeatable task is an asset. Work Environment:
Combination of office, laboratory, and field settings. Travel to
project sites as required (local and regional). All interns are
eligible for a one-day field trip to sites where technological
advances in building envelope technology have been implemented. Who
