Job Description:
Job Title: Director, Business Development Reports To: Vice
President ROLE PURPOSE We're looking for a high-performing Director
of Business Development with pharmaceutical agency experience. This
person will direct all the business development activities of the
organization. This individual will drive new sales business and
play a key role in the company's bottom line. Our ideal candidate
will be a self-motivated, hands-on Business Development
professional. Must be able to meet monthly and quarterly quotas for
revenue and pipeline development. This person will acquire new
customers and sell additional products or services to existing
ones; identify opportunities for strategic partnerships and
business deals with key companies in the pharmaceutical industry.
MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES Responsible for the overall management of
all strategic and operational Marketing activities. Provide market
feedback to company leadership regarding competitive offerings,
prospect needs, and generate product development ideas. Take
ownership of the management of the sales and marketing functions of
the business. Drive increased revenue and profit to achieve the
company's ambitious growth. Working to acquire targets, the job
holder will be required to adopt a professional and knowledgeable
approach to each new business call as they uncover business
opportunities. Planning and coordinating the implementation of
business plans and the penetration of new markets. Identify and
build prospect lists. Initiate contact and set meetings with
prospects via phone, email, LinkedIn, networking events, etc. Meet
monthly, quarterly, and annual business development performance
objectives. Create PowerPoint/Google Slides presentations and other
business proposal documentation. Management of business development
team. KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS / MEASURES OF SUCCESS Leads
generated The number of deals closed and revenue generated Level of
innovation brought to the organization EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree required. 10 years of sales
experience, preferably in the pharmaceutical advertising agency
industry. Demonstrated achievement of sales quotas in business.
Experience in working with senior management to align sales
strategies and solutions. Excellent negotiation skills, proven
track record of successfully pitching for new business. A proven
track record in strong presentation skills. A strong track record
of business-to-business sales at a corporate level. Strong research
and strategic analysis skills. Proven expertise in prospecting.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and be
able to cold call potential clients with confidence. Must be
skilled at agreeing and closing deals with clients. Proven ability
to learn and adapt to a fast-changing business development
landscape while remaining focused on achieving core objectives.
Ability to create and manage solid business development portfolio
showing exceptional follow-through and closing skills, ultimately
driving growth for the company. Excellent organizational skills as
well as performance monitoring. Must be able to operate Microsoft
Office and associated programs. Ability to manage a team. Travel
required.
