This position may be remote with regular travel to support facilities within our Mideast region. This includes locations in PA, OH, and IN.----GENERAL PURPOSEContribute to the strategic planning, direction, and goal setting for area of sales responsibility in collaboration with senior leadership. Design and implement an organizational structure that will maximize results through effective collaboration and accountability. Improve profitability through volume growth, margin optimization, and cost savings initiatives through the effective leadership of others. Take accountability for the performance and results of an area or multiple areas (e.g., sales and account management, sales support, sales administration, customer service, or other related work functions). Have accountability for the sales performance and results of large, strategically important accounts, an extremely large market, and/or for diverse disciplines or departments within division.--JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES-- Develop, adapt, and execute strategies to achieve key business objectives for area of responsibility. Develop goals and objectives to effectively grow the supported business. Build high performing teams through effective team collaboration with goal of maximizing profitability-- Identify and implement standards to ensure effective customer relationships and continued business growth-- Develop and manage operating plan to meet or exceed financial objectives. Make sound business projections, identify the impact of budgetary assumption changes, and make appropriate adjustments-- Partner with the marketing team to establish and capitalize on consumer trends and develop products that will help build margin within supported business. Build and execute best in class programs for sales area that increase volume and margin-- Work in partnership with other groups, such as operations, distribution, and purchasing, to mitigate non-value added costs. Strive for improvement in raw material cost savings and optimal plant and cooler costs, while ensuring excellent customer service-- Work closely with the credit department to set customer accounts receivable (A/R) goals; develop strategies to minimize risk and reduce A/R balances-- Works alongside direct reports as a coach and partner to effectively manage their performance. Communicate company and cascading goals and assist direct reports in establishing goals that align with department and company goals. Provide on-going performance feedback and conduct performance conversations with direct reports. Hold direct reports accountable for results and work with them to cultivate their capabilities and utilize their strengths-- Establish pricing strategies to maximize operating income. Analyze cost drivers such as commodities, fuel, resin, etc., to determine selling price. Use a deep understanding of customers, market conditions, and competitors to determine what the market will bear-- Effectively lead cross-functional projects related to growth opportunities, continuous improvement, and other key business initiatives. Set clear direction for project teams and involve appropriate people and functions. Meet project objectives through well-coordinated and integrated work efforts. Use a collaborative approach to ensure that new initiatives are well-executed-- Effectively manage risk to the business unit and company by considering the legal implications of business decisions. Exercise sound judgment when entering into contractual agreements related to new business, facilities, bids, distributors, etc. Consult next level manager and legal counsel as appropriate-- The requirements herein are intended to describe the general nature and level of work performed by employee, but is not a complete list of responsibilities, duties, and skills required.
