Title: -Metallurgical Process Technician Location: -Hatfield, PA Shift: -Monday through Friday 8:30 to 5:30pm - Compensation: -Competitive ! Type: Permanent -/Direct-Hire Start: Immediately ! Overview: A -well-known, industry -leader in Materials Testing and Calibration Services near Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, is seeking a mechanically minded technician interested in gaining -hands-on sample preparation of metallurgical samples experience - while working in a fast-paced laboratory setting . -Please apply ! - Responsibilities: -

• Performs basic sample preparation consisting of sectioning with abrasive cutoff saws, hot and cold mounting, automatic grinding/polishing of routine samples, and manual grinding/polishing of non-routine samples.
• Prepares a wide variety of metal samples including, but not limited to, iron, nickel, titanium, copper, and aluminum based alloys.
• Interprets engineering documents, drawings, and specifications to determine the appropriate method of sample preparation.
• Responsible for recognizing a sample???s material type, orientation, size, and form.
• Follows instructions and guidance provided by Sample Distribution and senior Metallography Personnel.
• Monitors frequently changing scheduled completion dates and times to ensure that established deadlines are met. -
• Labels materials and prepared samples with pertinent identification and information. -
• Cleans and maintains the sample preparation lab environment.
• Conducts routine maintenance of equipment including basic repairs when possible.
• Must be mechanically inclined with skillful hand dexterity. Requirements: -
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required
  • Certificates, licenses, and registrations required: Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • Computer skills required: Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, Laboratory Management Systems and Software.
  • Other skills required: Mechanical aptitude, excellent attention to detail, ability to work in a team environment, ability to multi-task, and work at an up-tempo pace.
  • Must be a US Citizen or Green Card holder
