Job Description:
Lead Improvement Engineer - Pilot Plant
S ituation in organization
-Member of the Central Process Technology organization, supporting
all Arkema processes.
-Located in King of Prussia Pilot Plant and reporting to the Pilot
Plant Manager.
-No direct reports, but expected to supervise contracting
companies, process operators, field contractors and lead
multi-functional teams.
Job dimensions
- Apply thorough knowledge of chemical engineering to lead
facilities improvement and engineering in the Pilot Plant or other
areas on the King of Prussia site.
-Perform moderately supervised engineering work and requires
routine presence in the pilot operating units and a strong desire
to work hands-on in the unit.
-Good understanding of the technical aspects of chemical process
and project development and execution, as well as ability to
understand and satisfy internal customers' needs/requirements.
-Ensure that improvements meet or exceed all corporate
expectations, guidelines, and procedural criteria.
-Indirect interfacing with government agencies and neighboring
communities, especially in terms of environmental and safety
issues.
-Lead improvement and project teams including technical resources
and reporting to project sponsors
-Knowledge of chemical processes, cost estimating, project
controls, and project scheduling and schedule control.
-Communication of project status at project Steering Committee
level.
-Manage multiple projects and programs concurrently up to $10M
Key A ctivities and responsibilities
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Process Improvement (50%)
-The position in based in King of Prussia, and requires frequent
presence in the pilot plant operating area with occasional travel
to contractors and vendors.
-Works with Pilot Plant Manager to improve the processes, develop
priorities and executes assignments with moderate supervision and
matrixes with Engineering and Technology management.
-Works with other engineers, research scientists, technicians and
other personnel to provide engineering support.
-Supports Engineering and Technology initiatives, such as digital
program, process book initiative, Team of Teams, etc.
-Supports Arkema local HES policies and international process
safety policies and complies with all regulatory and internal
requirements and participates in HES activities provided by
Arkema.
-Supports and promotes the reporting of all health, safety,
environmental, near-miss, accident or injury incidents.
- Sets own career directions and customizes own development
plan.
Required Education/Q ualifications /Work experience

proficient in the role. Candidates would be expected to achieve
these competencies within 2 years.
