Outfitters, we're all about understanding our customers. We're
looking for a talented person to join our Consumer Insights &
Strategy team, within our larger Brand Marketing and Ecommerce
department. The ideal candidate is passionate about finding
insights in data and creating a wider understanding of our consumer
- both in North America and internationally - including their
preferences, attitudes, and behaviors. Our team leverages
quantitative and qualitative findings to synthesize insights that
have wide sweeping effects across business strategy, marketing, and
consumer behavior decisions.The Sr. Consumer Research & Strategy
Analyst will aid in the development and execution of key team
initiatives, including survey programming, managing research
panels, conducting quantitative and qualitative analysis,
presenting findings to move strategy forward, and manage the
day-to-day research calendar.Position is hybrid; require 2-3 days
in office per week.Responsibilities
- Create proprietary research that focus on branded insights,
product & category insights, consumer development, and macro
consumer behavioral trends
- Partner with analytics and email marketing to identify survey
audiences, customer attributes, and key data points
- Oversee technical survey execution - including but not limited
to programming, QA, copy and creative assists coordination,
distribution, and monitoring
- Own coordination of qualitative research (1:1s, focus groups,
ethnographic studies, etc.)
- Own data analysis and development of actionable insights that
have business impact
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with multiple
cross-functional teams including - but not limited to - analytics,
marketing, merchandising, buying, CX, and international teams
- Assist with day-to-day relationships of agency account teams,
vendors, and other support resources
- Contribute to a highly collaborative, development-focused team
culture
- Own and manage UO Research Panel - focused on ad hoc projects
among engaged consumers; developing ideas for maintaining
engagement and retention of panel; lead panel recruiting
- Manage research calendar utilizing guidance from overarching
research strategy and product / project roadmapsQualifications -
- 3-4 years of experience in consumer / market research;
experience working with strategy or brand marketing a plus in
additional to retail or fashion experience
- Strong interests in psychology, sociology, behavioral
economics, and retail
- A balance of creative and analytical skills with the ability to
proactively define research questions, identify appropriate
methods, execute studies, and synthesize finding
- Robust understanding of logic-based survey platforms, previous
experience with Qualtrics a plus
- Experience with qualitative recruiting platforms (e.g. user
interviews), understanding of UX research a plus but not
required
- Strong foundational knowledge and experience implementing both
qualitative and quantitative methodologies
- Familiarity with SPSS, SAS, or other statistical analysis
software (Qualtrics Stats IQ a plus) and ability to conduct
occasional complex statistical analysis (e.g. regressions)
- Strong project management skills - great attention to detail,
ability to build and track projects via management tools and
calendars, handle multiple projects simultaneously, and keep
timelines moving forward
- Strong oral, written and formal presentation skills (e.g. deck
building) with ability to communicate complex ideas in a simple
way
- Ability to switch seamlessly between analytical and strategic
skillsets - power to build 'the story' from the data and identify
the 'so what' that drives brand positioning and business strategy
forward
- Self-starter and highly self-motivated, assumes personal
accountability for results and performance
- Ideally have past experience in a retail, eCommerce, or CPG
capacity, previous work within an agency or consulting environment
a plusEducationBachelor's Degree in Market Research, Business,
Marketing, Communications, Statistics, Behavioral Sciences, Social
Sciences or similar; graduate degree in area preferred
