    Senior Consultants direct and manage large projects or a series of smaller projects, ensuring that all projects are conducted with sound methods and techniques. Successful candidates will have significant learning and diffusion experience across a diverse content areas as well as experience in business development, staff supervision, grant or proposal writing, and program evaluation. Senior Consultants contribute to business development at Lewin/OSC by managing proposal efforts and identifying new business opportunities with existing clients.

    Primary Responsibilities:


    • Evaluate evidence on effectiveness for clinical measures derived from administrative or claims data, health records, electronic health records, other data sources in compliance with Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality, and the National Quality Forum (NQF) requirements
    • Develop test measure protocols
    • Develop measure specifications and client communications that summarize decisions and recommendations
    • Track activities of key standards-setting committees and consensus-based organizations such as NQF
    • Draft and manage proposals for new projects related to measure development, testing, maintenance, and implementation

      Required Qualifications:


      • Advanced degree (M.D., D.O., Masters degree, or Ph.D.) in medicine, economics, health policy research, or similar discipline OR a Bachelor's degree with 8+ years of experience
      • Health policy professional with 6+ years industry experience in health services research, evaluation and/or policy including strong analytic skills
      • Broad understanding of federal or state health policy issues, with ability to work in multiple areas serving as a subject matter expert
      • Experience working on quality measure engagements, preferably for federal programs, including those at CMS
      • Experience working with various types of data used to measure health care quality (e.g., administrative claims, instrument-collected data, chart-abstracted data, EHR output& experience using appropriate statistical software to analyze data e.g. SAS or SQL)
      • Full COVID-19 vaccination is an essential job function of this role. Candidates located in states that mandate COVID-19 booster doses must also comply with those state requirements.         Preferred Qualifications:


        • 5+ years experience organizing and supervising the work of others
        • 4+ years experience working with public programs such as Medicare and/or Medicaid
        • Knowledge of qualitative testing methods (e.g., gathering data for feasibility, usability, and measure alignment)
        • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to translate complex findings to non-technical audiences
        • Highly motivated, with demonstrated success working as a team member in a fast-paced interdisciplinary environment

          Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only: -The salary range for Colorado/Connecticut/Nevada residents is $97,300 to $176,900. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
