As an Instrument Technician your duties would be to operate, maintain and install electronic instrumentation used for the operation of the biopharmaceutical process facility. This role will provide YOU the opportunity to lead key activities to progress YOUR career. These responsibilities include some of the following: Provides maintenance and repair services to support the biopharmaceutical process. Performs repairs to process control instrumentation or related equipment for fermenters, autoclaves, biological waste inactivation systems, bioreactors, plant utilities and associated systems. Maintains, repairs and installs control elements including switches, transmitters, positioners, signal conditioners and related devices. Designs and implements metrology procedures to ensure that all instrumentation systems are maintained in a NIST traceable state. Uses schematic or logic diagrams and diagnostic instruments to locate electronic control system or electrical system malfunctions. Troubleshoots and repairs circuit boards to the component level. Safely shuts down systems or equipment to allow inspection, maintenance or renovation to control systems and related processes. Maintains required records, logs and inspection forms. Maintains metrology and other computer system databases by entering information, retrieving records and formatting reports. Coordinate with vendors to procure replacement instrumentation and related hardware and ensure that the instrumentation spare parts inventory is maintained. Performs preventive and predictive maintenance routines to assigned equipment. Makes recommendations for maintenance frequencies and tasks to enhance equipment life and maintainability. Works independently, in compliance with standard operating procedures and other applicable regulations, to perform normal maintenance routines and emergency response procedures Oversees contractor activities in the performance of maintenance or renovation tasks. Basic Qualifications: We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals: High School Diploma 2+ ears experience with the maintenance of pharmaceutical process equipment or research facilities. 3+ years experience as an instrument technician in an industrial environment with maintenance responsibility for process controllers or distributed control networks. Preferred Qualifications: If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus: Demonstrated ability to perform job duties with limited supervision. Demonstrated familiarity with cGMP's, regulatory guidelines, and standard operating procedures. Understanding of P&IDs and electrical schematics Skills and knowledge to serve as a resource to less experienced employees. Ability to work in a multifunctional team environment Why GSK?
