(SCM) Manager is to manage a team of professional & skilled supply
chain, planning, logistic resources with functional
responsibilities in areas of direct and indirect material
procurement, strategic sourcing, planning & fulfillment, inventory
management, trade compliance & logistics in a multi-facet
manufacturing site that supplies product & services within US &
global markets. You will involves continuous engagement &
interaction with the Americas category Managers as well as global
division supply chain & category managers in a collaborative &
cohesive manner. You will create value through constantly improving
quality, optimizing cost & implementing processes for improved
efficiency.The position will be located at our facility in
Warminster, PA.This position reports toOperations ManagerYour
responsibilities
- Responsible for creating SCM strategy aligned with the business
plan and actions by following up with global, HUB and local SCM
teams
- In accordance with local business objectives, implements
programs to drive improvement in cost, quality, and delivery.
Secures full utilization and implementation of ABB global tools and
processes
- Developing category management for various commodities which
includes cost effective supplier selections, supplier development
and risk management
- Establish and maintain an inventory management policies &
process for all aspects of inventory, including raw materials, Work
in process--- (WIP) & finished goods. Devise ways to optimize
inventory control procedures (consignment stock, lead time
reductions etc.). Direct material planners to implement projects to
optimize inventory & improve Net Working Capital
- Manage the preparation of plans, oversee project schedules,
assign resources, and initiate actions as necessary to meet
commitments
- Direct the review of engineering & technical specifications,
commercial T&Cs, and other contractual issues, and overall
progress to ensure meeting schedules
- Continuous improvement of process & procedures for various
sections within SCM and independently perform special projects in
direct support of senior management
- Manage the evaluation of suppliers, vendors, logistics &
transportation groups and ensure that terms and conditions of
contracts are favorable to the Company
- Negotiate prices and terms, influence decisions, and ensure
contract compliance through strong communication and leadership
skills
- Manage trade operations activities, facilitate the processing
of Customs entry declarations with ABB nominated freight
forwarders, couriers, and brokers
- Effectively manage international trade transactions, both
imports & exports to assure compliance of US govt. and ABB
regulatory guidelines
- Ensures that the area of responsibility is properly organized,
staffed, skilled and directed. Guides, motivates, and develops
direct and indirect subordinates (knowledge management, functional
training, etc.)
- Responsible for performance evaluation & appraisals, career
development and employee satisfaction
- Implement ABB standards on sustainability and business ethics
as well as the Supplier Code of Conduct within the Business Unit
supply base
- Travel 20% Domestic and/or InternationalYour background
- Bachelor's degree in Business or Engineering and minimum 8
years of experience in supply chain/material management
- Master's degree is preferred
- Six Sigma Green Belt Certification
- SAP and Excel advanced
- ISM CPSM certification preferred
- Proven track record of delivering results in leadership
roles
- Excellent analytical, communication and People management
skills
- Well-developed leadership skills and ability to drive change in
a matrix organization
- Proficient with Microsoft Office
