The Behavioral Specialist Consultant (BSC) provides clinical
direction of services to a youth, including the oversight of the
implementation of an individualized treatment plan. The BSC
collects relevant data through direct and indirect evidenced based
methods, develops effective interventions and provides consultation
to the treatment team which includes the family, school, mobile
therapist, BHT and other service providers.QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must meet one of the following:
- Licensed in PA as a Behavior Specialist
- Certified as a BCBA or other graduate level certification in
behavior analysis that is accredited by the National Commission for
Certifying Agencies or the American National Standards
Institute
- Graduate degree in ABA from an accredited college or
university
- PA License LPC, LSW, LCSW, LMFT, Licensed psychologist and
minimum of 8 hours verified training in behavior
analysis/modification prior to hire
- If not licensed, must have all of the following:
- Minimum of two (2) years full-time experience providing mental
health direct services to youth/young adults and at least one of
those years of experience using behavior analysis/modification
techniques, AND
- Minimum of 8 hours of verified training in behavior
analysis/modification prior to hire, AND
- Graduate degree in psychology, social work, education or
counseling or related field from an accredited college or
university, AND
- At least 12 verified credit hours in foundations of behavioral
health and the provision of mental health services (e.g.
individual, group and family therapy, cognitive and/or
psychodynamic therapy, crisis counseling, abnormal psych,
psychopathology, assessment, child development, personality theory,
psychotherapy lab, clinical practicum. No more than 3 of the 12
credit hours can be derived from practicum experiencePHYSICAL
DEMANDS:Ability to stand and sit for extended periods. Ability to
pass training on crisis intervention and defensive
procedures.SPECIFIC DUTIES:
- Be knowledgeable and ensure compliance with all Intensive
Behavior Health Services (IBHS) regulations, standards and
expectations.
- For assigned youth complete a comprehensive assessment that
includes a Functional Behavior Assessment that will be utilized in
the development of an individualized treatment plan.
- In collaboration with all treatment members, develop a
comprehensive, individualized treatment plan (ITP) for assigned
youth and families that includes behavioral goals, intervention
type (individual, family, group) interventions to be provided by
treatment team members.
- Provide on-going oversight of the implementation of the ITP
with all treatment team members.
- Provide on-going consultation and education to treatment team
members regarding the ITP.
- Be flexible in scheduling to meet participant and family needs
and provide direct observation where the services are delivered: in
the home, school and community.
- Provide evidence-based treatment interventions for assigned
youth and families.
- Provide crisis intervention and management as indicated.
- In collaboration with the treatment team, develop crisis/safety
plans that are developmentally appropriate, strength-based and
trauma-informed.
- Provide on-going oversight of the crisis/safety plan making
adjustments as indicated or when new data is identified.
