We celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees.Position: Transportation Construction Inspector - Bucks County & Philadelphia, PAReports to: Project ManagerGeneral Qualities:- Is a proactive Self - starter.- Provides technical support.- Can accomplish assigned tasks independently with guidance from their supervisor.- Capable of developing solutions to problems.Technical Responsibilities- Must monitor and document the construction project is being built in accordance with the plans and specifications.- Review and interpret plans, site layouts, specifications, and construction methods to ensure compliance to legal requirements and safety regulations.- Performs routine tests on concrete, soils, and other materials.- Measure dimensions and verify level, alignment, and elevation of structures, fixtures, grades and/or pavement to ensure compliance to plans and codes.- Gather and maintain record documents.- Report to and provide support for the office project manager.- Be able to perform work independently.- Performs other duties as assigned.Educational and Professional Requirements:- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.- Must possess a valid driver's license.- Must adhere to KSE and project-specific safety rules and requirements.- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel and navigating through company internet-based systems.- Working usage of an iPad.- English language skills, written and verbal, are required in this role.- Possess basic math skills necessary to perform computations for length, area, and volume.- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.- Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and procedures.- Availability to work various shifts, including the night shift. Overtime is often required.- Position is subject to seasonal layoff.- Work is performed in the field.- Ability to extensively perform bending, kneeling, standing, shoveling, walking along rough terrain, climbing ladders, and lifting and carrying objects weighing up to 25 pounds as needed.
