Job Description:

Located in the nation's first skyscraper, Loews Philadelphia Hotel combines living history with warm sophistication. Cooperates with Valet Services to help control traffic flow. Welcomes guests to the Hotel. Shares accountability with Guest Services for assisting arriving guests. Delivers packages and Faxes. Performs room changes when guest are not present. Maintains the luggage storage areas. Provides Bell Captain with inventory needs. Assist with deliveries when asked. Participates in Organized Arrivals and Bag Pulls when asked. Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Ensures proper and safe luggage flow in lobby
  • Welcomes guests to the Hotel
  • Assists all arriving guests with luggage
  • Provides parking information to guests
  • Opens Hotel entrance door for guests
  • Escorts guests or provides directions to Front Desk
  • Stores luggage for guests when guestrooms are not ready upon arrival
  • Handles guest inquiries professionally and with the utmost courtesy and accuracy
  • Provides guests with Hotel and surrounding area information and travel directions
  • Summons taxis for outbound guests and provides information regarding other transportation options
  • Becomes familiar with guest names and acknowledges guests by name
  • Maintains the cleanliness of Hotel front entrance area, immediately picking up any trash or debris, contacting Housekeeping for major cleaning tasks
  • Provide detailed information about hotel facilities and operating hours.
  • Is alert to guests who appear to be intoxicated and intend to drive a vehicle - notifies Security department immediately for assistance
  • Assists Security in emergency situations when requested
  • Answers telephone calls in a professional manner consistent with Loews Hotels Star Service Standards
  • Ensures that deliveries of Hotel supplies and large cargo are made at the loading dock, NOT through the front door
  • Establishes a good working relationship with all Hotel departments, especially Front Desk, Concierge, and Valet
  • Informs Bell Captain when inventory levels decrease
  • Assist with Group deliveries when asked
  • Participates in Organized arrivals and Bag Pulls when asked
  • Performs room changes only when guest are not present
  • Maintains the cleanliness and organization of the luggage storage areas
  • Other duties as assigned Supportive Functions and Responsibilities
    • Notifies appropriate individuals fully and completely of all problems and unusual matters of significance
    • Is polite, friendly, and helpful to guests, management, employees
    • Attends appropriate hotel meetings and training sessions
    • Promotes and applies teamwork skills at all times
    • Executes emergency standards in accordance with hotel standards
    • Complies with safety regulations policies and procedures
    • Complies with hotel and department standards, policies, and rules
    • Remains current with hotel information and changes
    • Maintains cleanliness and excellent condition of equipment and work area Qualifications
      • Excellent communication and guest relations skills
      • Excellent knowledge of local area
      • Must be able to lift 75 pounds and push a cart weighing up to 150 pounds
      • Position requires continual bending, lifting, stooping, and pushing
      • Able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays
