Job Description:
Position Summary
Congreso provides free tax preparation services through our IRS
certified VITA/TCE Tax Site. The Community Outreach Specialist will
work with the Tax & Benefits Manager to raise awareness within the
community. The Community Outreach is responsible for educating and
mobilizing the community to claim the Child Tax Credit and Earned
Income Tax Credit. They will connect community members with trusted
organizations to help them claim the tax credits. Community
Outreach Specialists will work part-time, 15 to 20 hours per week,
during the tax season. Activities include canvassing the community
door-to-door, presenting information at community events, and
stationing information booths at high-traffic locations, such as
libraries. All Community Outreach Specialists will be bilingual in
English and Spanish.
This position reports to the Tax & Benefits Manager.
This is a hybrid position.
The Community Outreach Specialist applies the principles of the
organization's signature service delivery approach, Primary Client
Model (PCM---), by promoting a positive employee-focused experience
that is appreciative of the unique strengths, values and needs that
each employee brings to the workplace; and by using data to inform
and drive decision making. Attention is given to compliance,
quality assurance, and best practices as they relate to employee
experience, records management, and data integrity and
usability.

Minimum Experience, Education, and Qualifications
Minimum Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
Minimum Experience: Proficient with Microsoft Suite, Word, Excel,
and Outlook. Well organized with the ability to complete work
efficiently, and have impeccable attention to detail. Bi-lingual
ENG/ SPA required.
Certification/License: N/A
