We are looking for a Senior R&D Chemist in HPACE (High Performance Adhesives, Coatings and Encapsulants) business unit at our Warrington, PA location.

The Senior R&D Chemist will: Lead, design, design, develop and scale up UV and heat curable epoxies, acrylics and other chemistry for use in various semiconductor applications.
Develop and evaluate the performance of products, characterizing them using tools such as rheometers, DSC, TMA, photo-DSC and use structure-property relationships to assist in faster development of products utilizing inputs from customers application.
Identify improvements and options for current products assisting in any raw material substitutions and qualifications as needed due to raw material discontinuation or non-availability.
The individual should have adequate knowledge of various polymerization techniques such as bulk, solution, emulsion and suspension.
Deliver results and materials meeting timelines and specifications to advance projects on schedule.
Analyze and interpret data to meet project targets and objectives, and make recommendations that drive efficiency and manage risk. Prepare and present project reports.
The individual should have the ability to assist in the manufacturing of products as needed by the business and should be able to follow documented procedure.
Communicate results in reports and presentations.
Write well-organized process development reports and batch records suitable for validation.
Maintain a safe, clean, and organized environment (6S) in the R&D laboratory.
Participate in establishing Intellectual Property related to assigned programs.
The candidate will work in an office environment, a technical laboratory, and occasionally in an industrial manufacturing setting.
Key relationships will include the broader R&D team, Quality Control, Quality Assurance, marketing, sales, legal, procurement, regulatory, production, external suppliers, and operations.

Experience 2+ years epoxy and acrylic UV and heat curable coatings and adhesive experience
4 years chemistry / chemical engineering experience outside of academia with process and product development and commercialization experience
Must have polymer synthesis and characterization experience
Experience and knowledge of ISO 9001 / 13485 required

Skills & Knowledge Experience authoring batch records for production processes.
Experience analyzing and interpreting analytical data including NMR, LCMS, GPC, GCMS, FTIR, ICP, HPLC/UPLC, GC, mass spectroscopy, TGA and DSC.
Experience designing and conducting polymerization
Good understanding of New Product Introduction Process
Understand and apply an underlying technical understanding of chemical and material interactions.
Excellent organization skills with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and effectively.
Capable of working cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment.
Familiarity with operation of all pilot and commercial compounding scale equipment.
Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills; proven ability to effectively present to a variety of internal and external audiences
Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Chemdraw and chemical databases (SciFinder, Reaxys).

Education M.S. in synthetic chemistry / chemical engineering / material science from an accredited college or university
