For a taste of who we are, take a peek at our website: More about the Technical Stuff: Summary: FKB is looking to hire Metal Fabricator to thrive in a fast-pace, creative setting within the fabrication and installation team of the firm. We are looking for all levels of metal fabrication, and this role will be full-time permanent beginning ASAP. Experience with metal fabrication is required, and experience with woodworking, or a mix of both is strongly preferred. Experience with alternative materials (such as corian, foam, plastics, etc) is a plus. Experience installing projects on client sites is preferred. Candidates must be authorized to work lawfully in the United States. This opportunity is based in Philadelphia, and some travel may be required.   • Interpreting and reading shop drawings for fabrication (strongly preferred, not required for entry-level position)
    • Responsible for fabrication of materials, specifically for assembly of parts; Fabricate from raw material to finished product
      • Familiar with a variety of metal welding and grinding/sanding techniques working to a very high degree of accuracy and finish
        • Painting and finishing work for projects
          • Carpentry as needed for projects
            • Creating special fixtures/jigs for specific projects
              • Managing, or helping to manage, a streamlined process of incoming materials through fabrication including, from the cold saw, grinding station, welding (including building specific fixtures), to finishing
                • Installation of projects on site (site conditions vary from indoors to outdoors)
                  • Client relations on site for surveys and installations
                    • Collaborate with other team members with design in software such as Illustrator (preferred)
                      • Collaborate with other team members for material research and estimation
                        • Contributing team member responsible for organization of shop tools and cleanliness
                          • Space layout planning for material and workspace optimization; Pathing for the shop
                            • Pushing through tasks that improve efficiency and overall aesthetics for shop and company
                              • Other additional duties and functions include:
                                • Support and collaborate with other shop and office team members
                                  • Facility management for the shop and office
                                    • Material sourcing
                                      • Other tasks as needed per project and around the shopQualifications:
                                        • Bachelor of Fine Arts in Art History or other Bachelor's degree in Design or Art based discipline preferred but not required
                                          • 1-2 years working in a fabrication shop is required for an entry-level position; 2-5+ years working in a fabrication shop is required for an upper-level position and above
                                            • OSHA 30 strongly preferred
                                              • Experience and comfortability around hand and power tools required
                                                • Skilled in a variety of metal welding, finishing, and/or carpentry techniques
                                                  • Advance knowledge of shop systems and tools
                                                    • Ability to, and experience with, measuring and cutting accurately and consistently
                                                      • Experience installing finished product on client sites
                                                        • Experience with CNC machines is strongly preferred and is a huge plus
                                                          • Foundry and casting experience preferred
                                                            • Experience reading and interpreting architectural and shop drawings is an added bonus
                                                              • Able to work in between design and build phase to understand loose ideas and turning them into concrete deliverables
                                                                • Must be able to stand on feet for 8-10-hour shifts and be able to lift heavy material
                                                                  • Able to maintain safe and clean workspace
                                                                    • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively
                                                                      • Is responsible and accountable for actions and work
                                                                        • Good time management skills; Punctual attendance
                                                                          • Able to hold professionalism in front of clients, vendors, and other business partners
                                                                            • Ability to be flexible, work, learn, and multi-task in fast-paced team environments
                                                                              • Takes initiative
