Background on this Position

We are looking for a Technical Recruiter to join our Talent Acquisition team and manage the candidate recruiting process for our product, design and engineering positions.

Based in a Remote-First setting, IZEA's Technical Recruiter should be able to balance proactively building a pipeline while managing current vacancies and collaborating with department managers on a regular basis. You will manage the recruiting process for open positions in the Engineering department. You should also be able to attract candidates using various sources, including social media networks, employee referrals and contacting passive candidates.

Technical Recruiter responsibilities include coordinating our hiring process, sourcing, screening and providing a shortlist of qualified candidates for various technical roles. You will also network with potential candidates to promote our employer brand, reduce our time-to-hire and ensure we attract the best professionals. You should have experience in the full recruitment life cycle and have various recruiting methods in your arsenal.

Ultimately, you will build a strong tech talent pipeline and help hire and retain skilled employees for our product, design, and engineering positions.

IZEA's workforce is currently 100% remote and the ideal candidate thrives with the freedom and flexibility this structure provides.

Due to this being a work-from-home opportunity, it is posted in multiple locations. However, there is currently only one opening.

Technical Recruiter Responsibilities

As a Technical Recruiter, you will report to the Senior Director, Talent Acquisition. You will collaborate with various hiring leaders on the Engineering team. Your core objectives and responsibilities will include:

  • Craft and send recruiting emails
  • Design and post technical job descriptions and interview questions that reflect each position's requirements
  • Design and customize hiring stages, including screening calls, assessments, and video interviews, based on each position's requirements
  • Post jobs on the corporate website and role-specific job boards, partnering with hiring managers on goals, strategy, and process
  • Ask for referrals from current employees and external networks
  • Screen resumes and applications and update candidates on hiring processes
  • Conduct initial phone screens to create shortlists of qualified candidates
  • Assess applicants' relevant knowledge, skills, soft skills, experience, and aptitudes
  • Identify qualified candidates using various sourcing techniques
  • Serve as a go-between for candidates and hiring managers including coordinating all additional interview steps in the hiring process
  • Ensure communication with candidates is prompt and professional at all stages, making sure we are responding to everyone in a timely manner so that all candidates know where they are in the candidate lifecycle
  • Report to hiring managers and Senior Director, Talent Acquisition on the status of open positions
  • Take on hard to fill positions and become a trusted partner of the hiring managers you work to support
  • Draft employment offers and facilitates negotiation of terms
  • Complete all appropriate onboarding procedures
  • Interact with potential candidates on social media and professional networks/job boards (e.g. LinkedIn, Indeed, etc)
  • Maintain candidate databases and communicate with past applicants regarding new job opportunities
  • Source potential candidates on niche platforms, like Stack Overflow and Github
  • Help establish connections with professional groups, communities, and other organizations
  • Promote our employer brand online and offline
  • Be able to own and drive processes independently, including looking for areas of opportunity to make improvements, conducting experiments, and making successful changes based on data
  • Track metrics to spot successes and opportunities for improvement in the hiring process
  • Create reporting and hiring metrics to present to hiring managers, upper management, leadership, and more, so that at any time all stakeholders know where we currently stand and how we can improve
  • Have a passion for creating a diverse workforce, including introducing us to new sourcing techniques

Experience, Qualifications & Requirements

  • 2+ years proven experience as a Technical Recruiter or similar role, experience as an in-house recruiter is a plus
  • Hands-on experience in the entire recruitment life cycle
  • Technical expertise with an ability to understand and explain job requirements for Software Engineering roles
  • Familiarity with recruiting software (e.g. Applicant Tracking Systems)
  • Knowledge of sourcing techniques on social media and niche professional websites like LinkedIn, Facebook, Github, and Stack Overflow
  • Experience sourcing passive candidates
  • Must be self-motivated, driven, and passionate about helping find talent to build great teams
  • Relationship building with hiring managers at all levels and making quality hires
  • Extreme passion for creating a positive experience for both the candidate and hiring manager
  • Dedicated to knowledge-sharing at all stages of a hiring cycle
  • Confidence to jump in and move on open requisitions with a sense of urgency
  • High attention to detail, possess an ability to multi-task and work well under pressure in a confidentiality-oriented environment
  • Creative and innovative mindset and the ability to independently solve problems
  • Ability to take initiative and work both independently as well as in a team setting
  • Enjoys the challenge of continuous change and improvement in a casual environment
  • Strong time-management and solid verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to positively present our company and open roles to potential candidates
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to understand/communicate complex role requirements
  • Must possess strong organizational skills, be a strategic thinker and a self-starter
  • MAC OSX, Gmail and Google Docs skills are a plus
