Job Description:

Summary:

Technical Leader for Avionics/Electrical sub-systems including HUMS, Avionics Ice Protection, and Lighting responsible for the integration, test, and certification of advanced avionics and electrical systems.

1.

Act as Technical Leader for HUMS, Avionics Ice Protection, and Lighting systems; Define, oversee, and submit applicable Certification Plans;

Coordinate certification requirements with FAA and DERs; Coordinate between stakeholders to ensure respective system requirements are properly addressed..

2.

Plan, develop, manage and perform component and aircraft level avionics and electrical tests that verify compliance in accordance with avionics and electrical SSCPs, including Flight Test Engineering duties.

Review and participate in preparation of technical specifications, design documents and test plans and procedures. Support Tiltrotor Technology and USG R&D projects as requested in the area of avionics/electrical system development.

Support the Avionics and Electrical CP and System Integrator in the scope, cost, and schedule management of the avionics and electrical system. Support the Chief Engineer to ensure the AW609 receives TC.

5.

Plan, prepare and coordinate avionics and electrical functional test procedures and flight test requests. Support AC3,AC4, and AC5 flight and ground test activities including flight test engineer duties for avionics/electrical system tests Troubleshoot problems and deviations found on prototype aircraft and develop solutions in coordination with CP's.

Experience:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering
  • Ten years of experience in avionics and electrical systems architecture and design for developmental aircraft including:
  • requirements analysis, development and verification.
  • avionics and electrical systems integration, test and troubleshooting.
  • experience in aircraft operations and manufacturing engineering

  • Problem solving skills.
  • Practical experience interfacing with regulatory authorities.
  • Adaptability in adjusting priorities due to multiple demands and unanticipated events.
  • Proactive in working with multiple disciplines towards successful project completion.
  • Excellent Communication and interpersonal skills.
