Chiefs in daily coordination of EMS emergency response, including efficient and appropriate response to emergency 911 calls and integration and interaction with local, county and state based agencies.Consistently monitors all aspects of EMS operations and make necessary adjustments to current services as well as implementing new initiatives to assure high quality clinical care and customer service.Position Responsibilities:* Works with Corporate Director and Virtua Finance to develop, monitor, and maintain the annual operations budgets for MICU Clinical Operations and EMS Alliance. Consistently monitors all aspects the operating budgets and makes necessary adjustments to ensure compliance with financial goals and metrics.* Manages and Directs all aspects of EMS Operations including the Field Operations Chiefs and their staff as well as assuring effective and efficient utilization of all Virtua EMS resources.* Responsible for the overall operational readiness of MEDCOM which includes; communications planning, and coordinating repair and preventative maintenance of all communications equipment. Assures Medcom meets all local, state, county regulatory requirements.* Responsible for all aspects of the EMS vehicle fleet including but not limited to procurement, conversion, maintenance, motor vehicle accident management, and constant operational readiness.* Performs Human Resource Management functions in a highly professional manner.* Sponsors, leads, and participates in performance improvement activities within the department as well as system-wide as requested.* Consistently monitors and researches areas of potential growth and business opportunities for Virtua EMS. Working with the Corporate Director and Finance team creates or assists in the creation of business plans for new initiatives.* Implements and consistently monitors the progress of any new initiatives and makes quality adjustments as necessary.Position Qualifications Required/Experience Required:Must have a minimum of 5 years experience in an EMS management role, such as EMS Chief, Administrator, or Director, and must have extensive background in pre-hospital 911 EMS.Must have excellent skills and a thorough knowledge of all aspects of EMS systems and emergency medical care as well as demonstrated leadership and teaching ability.Must be able to drive an emergency vehicle in stressful situations.Required Education:Bachelor's degree in Emergency Services Management, Public Health, Health Administration, or related field is required; Advanced degree is preferred.Training/Certifications/Licensure:Certified as a Paramedic by the Commissioner of Health & Senior Services of the State of New Jersey.Current certification in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) to the professional rescuer level, American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support, American Heart Association Pediatric Advanced Cardiac Life Support or American Academy of Pediatrics PEPP and PHTLS or ITLS.Must complete yearly PPD, Fit Test, Corporate Compliance, HIPAA and Safety Day training by the date set forth by the department.Must have completed or be eligible to complete applicable NIMS/ICS Training as mandated by State and Federal guidelines for EMS Managers.Must have valid NJ driver's license in good standing.
