Contract: 12 months Location: Harleysville,PA Shift Schedule : M-F 6:00 am-2.30 pm OT to be expected Pay (DOE) : $14/hr - $17/hr EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE High school diploma or GED required. Ability to work in a team environment. Will be required to become certified in soldering and other job specific related areas. Must be able to read and interpret engineering drawings, manufacturing procedures and literature supplied by original equipment manufacturers. POSITION SUMMARY FOR THIS OPENING: Working from manufacturing procedures, method sheets, engineering prints, engineering bill of material, this position prepares motor sub-assemblies, final assemblies, electronic, electrical and mechanical sub-assemblies, final assemblies and after assemblies in their entirety. This job description applies to both brush motors and brushless motor assembly. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Under specific direction from Supervisor, Lead Person or Assistant Supervisor, performs motor sub-assembly, assembly and after assembly utilizing individual electronic, electrical and mechanical components. This position will be responsible for product quality as well as production quantity. This position may receive specific direction from a Product Engineer or Manufacturing Engineer. This position will require the Assembler to use calibrated measuring equipment in the normal performance of their job such as, but not limited to, the following; calipers, plug gauges, drop indicators, force gauges, torque measuring screwdrivers, oscilloscope, dial gauges, torque wrenches, micrometers, and specially designed PMT manufactured measuring equipment. Under specific instruction, assembles individual electronic, electrical and mechanical components as required from the specific engineering bill of material to produce sub-assemblies, final motor assemblies and after assemblies. Utilizes manual hydraulic, air presses, and electric presses, balancing machine, magnet charger, oscilloscope, encoder testers puma, soldering equipment, desoldering equipment, digital volt meter and other test equipment. Assembles individual motor parts and components to produce final motor assemblies. Size brush armatures or brushless rotors. Operate motor run-in equipment. Prepares individual lead wires and assemblies. Form leads, terminals and lead wire assemblies and sub-assemblies. Assemble encoders, brakes, pulleys, lead assemblies to finished motors. Solders individual electrical and electronic components into sub-assemblies, after assemblies and final assemblies. The position requires the use of light hand assembly tools. T.I.R. Motor and output shafts. Solder lead assemblies, connectors, capacitor and filter networks to final motor assemblies. Press sleeves, spacers, and/or cores into shafts. Press ball bearings on to brush armature shaft and/or brushless rotor. Check end-play and shaft extension. Final test motor.
