Location:-- LOC_COLKET-Colket Translational Research -- Shift: Days Employment Status:--Regular - Full Time-- Job Summary This role will be responsible for the efficient operations of cage wash and leading cage wash technicians. This role will also be responsible for providing a variety of animal husbandry services; serves as subject matter expert providing consult and support to team members. The individual in this role will be expected to be familiar with the daily facilities' operations, employees, and concerns within the facilities. This individual will work closely with the Supervisor to be aware of the census, and changing investigator needs. Job Responsibilities

• Perform duties of cage wash personnel.
• Train and lead cage wash personnel to perform duties according to current SOPs and safety standards. Assist in development and revision of SOPs.
• Must be familiar with operation of cage washing equipment (i.e., tunnel washer, rack washer, autoclaves, etc.).
• Maintain cage wash staff compliance of temperature and biological monitoring of all cage wash equipment.
• Anticipate caging and chemical needs for the cage wash area and report those needs to management in a timely manner.
• Monitoring of performance, and data output from computerized equipment, and assisting vendors during maintenance visits. Report all equipment malfunctions, failures, and repair needs to management.
• Maintain cage wash staff compliance for completion of documentation and monitoring.
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
• Performs all other duties as assigned. Job Responsibilities (Continued) Job Responsibilities (Continued) Required Licenses, Certifications, Registrations AALAS ALAT certification Required Education and Experience Required Education: High School Diploma / GED Required Experience:
  • Two (2) years of experience in a laboratory animal or zoo animal environment Preferred Education, Experience & Cert/Lic Preferred Education: Associate's degree in Animal Science or Veterinary Technology Preferred Experience:
    • Three (3) years of experience in a laboratory animal or zoo animal environment Preferred Licenses/certificates/registrations:
      • Veterinary Technician Certification or Certification at the LAT level Additional Technical Requirements
        • Familiarity with operation and maintenance of basic cage wash equipment.
