Position Summary: The Distribution Driver is responsible for safe movement of finished goods from production site(s) to off-site storage location(s) and at times materials from off-site to production site(s) via box trucks. Driver will work to securely load and unload materials at both ends of the delivery as needed and should know how to utilize liftgates safely. Driver will also assist with deliveries to clients Drivers report essential information to the Food Services team regarding product conditions for finished goods and off-site components. Drivers are responsible for the safe operation and maintenance of their vehicles. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES - Loads and stabilizes product onto the vehicle with all items identified as prepared for movement to off-site or back to production by Food Services team members. - Unloads and assists in the placement of materials into storage at delivery points. - Maintains applicable MHE (pallet jacks mainly) skills in order to operate equipment safely for self and other team members working in the area. - Adheres to all applicable traffic laws and safe driving practices as required by the Moveable Feast driver’s manual. - Coordinates with the Kitchen Team to confirm that all meals are ready to be loaded for movement to off-site storage. - Verifies counts of trays loaded and unloaded to ensure accurate inventory is maintained. - Maintains strict client confidentiality and adheres to all HIPPA and privacy standards. - Maintains assigned vehicle to be free of waste and debris in the cab and box of the unit. - Performs daily and weekly vehicle inspections as required. - Properly packs, stores and returns meals for delivery to ensure appropriate safety and quality control measures are in place. - Performs Delivery Driver duties to cover vacations, holidays and additional volume events. - Engages respectfully, courteously and pleasantly with each staff member and client, noting any special needs or problems which may be apparent. - Reports any specials needs or problems to the Transportation Manager. - Engages in regular training on interacting with clients, safe driving practices, vehicle safety and maintenance and other training topics as required. Other Duties: - Assists with organizing Moveable Feast events as required. - Adheres to all Federal Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) regulations, by protecting the privacy and security of all patient/client health information. - Knowledge of and adherence to Moveable Feast’s Personnel Policies and Procedures. - Other duties and responsibilities as assigned or requested. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE · Possess a valid Maryland driver's license with no points on MVA Record and has the ability to obtain CDL license · At least one year of experience as a delivery driver utilizing a box truck. · Experience following an assigned route with experience delivering in Maryland preferred. · At least one year of customer service experience. Prior work or volunteer experience working with diverse and marginalized populations preferred. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES - Commitment to the mission and values of Moveable Feast. - Attention to detail and ability to multitask. - Must adhere to high ethical standards of integrity and discretion in working with confidential information. - Excellent customer service skills. - Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint and Teams for calendaring, correspondence, presentations, special reports, spreadsheets, etc. - Must possess strong time management and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively. - The ability to work in a fast-paced environment. - Ability to work independently and with a team. - Ability to develop strong working relationships with internal staff and external stakeholders - Able to stand for up to 3 hours and lift up to 50 pounds.
