Job Description:
OverviewThe HRIS Senior Systems Administrator works within the
Office of Human Resources, HRIS department reporting to the
Manager, HRIS. We are seeking a candidate who has broad experience
with ERP cloud systems, leading implementations and migrating to
cloud products. The role will be involved in current and future
state business process mapping and improvements as we anticipate a
migration away from PeopleSoft HCM to a cloud system such as Oracle
Cloud or Workday. The candidate is expected to be an integral part
of the cloud systems migration, as well as current production
support, system configuration, troubleshooting, security
administration, integration and interfaces with third party
systems. Experience with Oracle Cloud or Workday ERP is a plus. The
Senior Systems Administrator is responsible for existing/new HRIS
system designs and service delivery in the areas of core human
resources, benefits, talent acquisition, performance management,
electronic actions forms, and other systems which support HR
initiatives. This role will perform requirements gathering, project
leadership, application design and support, process and technical
documentation, and recommend system design changes based on user
needs and work with all levels of HR subject matter experts and the
OIT organization to implement changes. This role also serves as a
system design and technical point of contact for assigned
functional areas and assists subject matter experts with ensuring
data integrity, testing of system changes, and analyzing data flows
for data management improvement opportunities and client support.
The role also assists with system upgrades, patches, testing and
other technical projects as assigned and serves as a backup for
daily operations, administration, and maintenance of the core HR
systems. This position is a hybrid position.Responsibilities
Requirements Gathering, System Design and Improvement
- Leads or participates in multiple projects which improve or
increase system efficiencies and effectiveness operating under HR
business processes. Manages project scope; adjusts schedules when
necessary; determines daily priorities; ensures efficient and
on-time delivery of project tasks and milestones; follows proper
escalation paths; and manages customer relationships.
- Leads and/or assists with HRIS projects involving
implementations, developing new functionality, integrating new
systems and processes with existing ones; and partners with
internal and external customers to ensure systems provided meet the
long-term business strategies.
- Manages resources in accordance with project schedule.
Identify, create and facilitate system design changes by conducting
business and systems process analysis and design at a complex
level. Communicates systems changes to other areas within HR.
- Works with all areas of HR to evaluate business processes and
recommends system design changes and upgrades based on efficiency
of current system and user needs. Designs systems specifications
and works with technical team members to ensure proper
interpretation of business requirements.
- Collaborates closely with systems users and business owners to
identify and prioritize requests, key initiatives and corresponding
system enhancements. Stays current with the HR product road map,
and works with users and business owners to adopt new
functionality.
- Serves as subject matter expert for HR systems other HCM
systems. Applies knowledge to maintain effective system utilization
and accuracy.HRIS Systems Administration and Production Support
- Provides day to day administration and technical support for
HRIS systems and processes including, but not limited to, launching
annual processes, researching and resolving systems issues and
unexpected results or technical process flaws. Escalates issues as
needed with vendor or programmer to attain resolution of
issue.
- Develops, manages, and supports self-service functionality
(ESS/MSS). Design self-service features based on future needs to
improve user experience and continue to leverage technology.
- Works with programmers or vendor to implement and test system
design changes and upgrades.
- Acts as a backup to monitor all incoming and outgoing
interfaces between ancillary HR systems and PeopleSoft.
- Analyzes audit needs and develops standard audit reports of the
HRIS system for functional areas.
- Supports HRIS upgrades, patches, testing, and other technical
projects as assigned.
- Supports maintenance of system tables and business rules,
including year-end system table updates.
- Assists with the development and maintenance of reference
materials and provides on-going support for end-users.
- Notifies affected users of technical or known issues in a
timely manner.
- Responsible for testing and troubleshooting of systems.Data and
Process Improvement
- Collaborates and coordinates across functional areas in HR to
ensure transactional processes comply with policies and
procedures.
- Runs audit queries on a daily basis to verify and analyze
integrity, consistency and accuracy of data.
- Recommends process/customer service improvements, innovative
solutions, policy changes and/or major variations from established
policy.
- Trains HRIS users and other functional areas of HR on best
practices for transactional work; Creates and maintains related
documentation.
- Provides data entry and auditing support during peak
periods.
- Participates as a data management subject matter expert on
cross-functional projects.
- Continually increases HRIS knowledge through participation in
user groups, webcasts, trainings, etc. to ensure best practices and
to keep up on current trends.
- Designs and builds adhoc reports and reports that support
project initiatives.Qualifications
- BA/BS or equivalent work experience
- 5+ years of HRIS systems administration experience
- Functional HR knowledge
- Human Resources Systems ERP implementations
- Upgrade experience within HCM or systems migrations to other
ERP or cloud systems
- Demonstrated experience in leading and managing multiple
projects with varying degree of complexities
- Understanding of and experience with relational query reporting
systems
- Demonstrated ability to exercise good judgment in evaluating
situations and making assessments for decisions
- Ability to translate functional business requirements into
technical specifications
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Exceptional customer service and communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple
priorities
