The Technology, Product, Experience (TPX) organization works at the
intersection of media and technology and our innovative teams are
continually developing and delivering products and next-generation
technologies that transform the customer experience. The Comcast
Network and CONNECTivity (CONNECT) organization is a highly agile,
fast-paced, dedicated group at the forefront of change focused on
innovating, building, and operating the best in class, most
reliable access network for our customers. Overview of the Role:
The Communications Engineering team has the responsibility of
building and supporting products and features that provide an
exceptional user experience for our Syndication Voice customers.
This role is responsible for developing and operating backend
components of a real-time communications platform including but not
limited to VoIP softphone, Conferencing, Screen Share and Restful
API Services. This candidate will be part of a DevOps team made up
of diverse individuals with varied experience levels from Junior to
Expert. Looking for a Senior Developer to assess the existing
platform and work with the team to scale, harden, optimize and
build new features to improve the customer experience.
Job Description
Preferred Skills & Experience:
Hands-on experience with Open Source Software
Extensive knowledge of VoIP technologies including SIP protocol
Knowledge of telephony software, e.g. Freeswitch, Jitsi, Broadsoft,
etc. is a plus
Working knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases
Experience working in cloud infrastructures like AWS, Open Stack,
and VMware
Scrum experience a plus
Core Responsibilities:
Partners with Engineering project Manager to provide consultative
direction and Develops long term objectives and plans to determine
resources, technology and course of action to achieve results.
Works with Other members of cross functional teams, joint ventures,
third party vendors and Company's product managers and marketing
teams to deliver quality products, in a timely fashion, that meet
defined requirements.
Establishes and maintains working relationships within NE&to,
product development teams, joint ventures, vendors and
contractors.
Participates in Company product lifecycle process. contributes to
and/or creates product and technical requirements, detailed design
Documents including transaction, capacity and bandwidth models,
systems definitions, and operational procedures as part of this
process.
Understands key business drivers and Applies the knowledge of
internal/external business issues to improve products and
services.
Anticipates and Interprets customer needs, assesses requirements
and identifies solutions.
Ensures that projects are properly accepted into the Engineering
team, worked on in a timely and efficient manner and smoothly
transitioned into quality assurance and operations teams.
Interprets internal/external business issues and recommends
complete solutions based on best practices and Proven
technologies.
Takes a broad perspective to identify innovative solutions.
Provides guidance for the performance and reliability of various
cross platform applications and services. Ensures that system
failures are restored in a timely manner.
Participates in the review of failures and Provides feedback to
prevent future occurrences.
Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in
matters of significance.

Education
Bachelor's Degree
While possessing the stated degree is preferred, Comcast also may
