The Community College of Philadelphia seeks a Dean of Business and Technology to build on the College's numerous past successes and proud history. Community College of Philadelphia is a public, open-admission institution that provides both academic resources and support services to help students achieve their academic goals. As the largest public institution of higher education in Philadelphia, the College has served more than 685,000 of the city's residents since 1965. During the last sixty years the College has continued to grow and expand its footprint, to include the groundbreaking for the Center for Business and Industry during the 2000s. Today, Community College of Philadelphia offers more than 100 associate degree, academic and proficiency certificate programs. Recent graduates continue to strengthen Philadelphia's local economy and workforce with 85 percent of recent graduates working at a job eight months after graduating from the College were employed in the Philadelphia metro area. The College enables students to embark on a smart path to a bachelor's degree program, with transfer agreements and partnerships to assist in the transition.

This position provides an excellent opportunity for an experienced leader with a true passion for the mission of community colleges to lead a team of talented faculty and staff. The next Dean must be a dynamic, innovative, collaborative, compassionate leader who will champion student success and equity and help to advance the College's mission and strategic goals.

Reporting to the Vice President for Academic & Student Success, the Dean of Business and Technology provides energetic, strategic and collaborative leadership, supervision and administration of divisional academic programs, including support for department heads, instructional support staff, faculty and curricula, and provides strategic development, direction and implementation of academic operations, policies, practices and procedures. The Dean is responsible for maintaining and developing high quality academic programs, selection and retention of divisional faculty and staff, and day-to-day management of divisional operations including budget preparation and oversight. The Dean serves as a member of the Vice President's leadership team, participates in the College's strategic planning, provides oversight and management of assessment in the division, and works closely with both academic and administrative areas of the College.
