Description: Job Title: Technical Writer Job Location: Philadelphia, PA L3Harris' DoD SkillBridge/Career Skills Program is connecting transitioning service members to career training opportunities within our organization. We will provide service members with valuable civilian work experience through industry specific training, certifications and on the job experience during their DoD Skillbridge/Career Skills Program to help them ready themselves for their next mission. L3Harris aims to attract and retain veteran talent and to help bridge the gap between their military service and civilian careers within our organization. Job Description: This candidate may perform moderately complex research and writing tasks to support various systems. The candidate will work either alone or as part of a team to develop content for system technical manuals. The candidate will document the results of analysis design tasks. The candidate must have demonstrated ability to research technical documentation and development of operational and maintenance procedures. The candidate should be resourceful and responsible if tasked to work alone. Essential Functions:

  • Candidate will support and edit technical manuals to enhance our manufacturing capabilities.
  • Applicant will use of Adobe Acrobat applications and Microsoft Office including Word, Project, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio, to develop TMs.
  • Update and apply configuration management to manuals and academics on a quarterly basis
  • Applicant will work closely with Engineering, Operations to define criteria and edit as needed existing documents to meet/exceed customer contract requirements.
  • Author and/or edit technical manuals for proper style, grammar, and consistency.
  • Applicant will follow establishing timelines to meet contract deliverables.
  • Translate and organize complex technical information into an array of readable formats. Qualifications:
    • Bachelor's Degree with 0 to 2 years of prior related experience or 2 years post-Secondary/ Associate's Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience. Preferred Additional Skills:
      • Self-Starter
      • Candidate must have above average expertise in Microsoft Office applications particularly MS Power Point, MS Excel, and MS Word (e.g., development of forms)
      • Additionally, the candidate should be familiar with MS Office suite to include Access and Project
      • Experience in quality control, ISO 9001-2015 a plus.
      • Excellent people skills to include collaborating in a multi-disciplinary, diverse, and dynamic team environment.
      • Candidate must be an organized self-starter with superb attention to detail, meticulous grammar, and a clear understanding of how to translate and organize complex technical information into an array of readable formats.
      • Applicant should be skilled in the use of Adobe Acrobat applications and Microsoft Office including Word, Project, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio,
      • Candidate must be an organized self-starter with superb attention to detail, meticulous grammar, and a clear understanding of how to translate and organize complex technical information into an array of readable formats.
      • Applicant should be skilled in the use of Adobe Acrobat applications and Microsoft Office including Word, Project, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio
