Job Description:

The Senior Information Security Systems Engineer -is responsible for performing all functions required to support day-to-day data security operations, including: supporting and maintaining a broad suite of information security infrastructure, accountability for security infrastructure system availability and integrity, monitoring compliance with company security policies and procedures, and coordinating the investigation and reporting of security incidents.

The Senior Information Security Systems Engineer participates in the planning, design, installation, and maintenance of security systems in support of security policies and works with Information Technology staff and business units to assess risk and address security issues.

Essential Functions:

Performs all aspects of application design analysis, security testing, and monitors implementation of new systems, applications programs, and enhancements.

Prepares system diagrams and logic representations.

Researches available related tools and technologies to provide innovative solutions to security challenges.

Achieves an extreme level of proficiency in all aspects of data protection, and system security for technology used in the Enterprise.

Creates periodic reports detailing key system security features or issues that are reviewable by Senior Management.

Assists in training InfoSec team members on security technology and emerging threats.

Reviews software (custom and third party) for security issues before it is installed in Production.

Monitors the Help Desk queue for issues pertinent to Information Security.

Works with Managed Security Services Providers (MSSPs) and internal parties to review escalated security items. Represents the Information Security department when working on matters requiring formal incident response.

Maintains in depth knowledge of the security and technology infrastructure utilized by the company, including the management and reporting of each

Assists in promoting a culture of security throughout the Enterprise via assistance with Security Awareness training and testing

Exercises discretion and independent judgment in the performance of Information Security responsibilities.

Knowledge & Skills:

Ability to express complex technical concepts effectively, both verbally and in writing.

Minimum of five years' experience in Information Security.

Knowledge of Payment Card/Financial Services industry desirable.

Knowledge of PCI DSS requirements highly desirable.

Advanced working knowledge of security mechanisms within applications.

Demonstrated project management skills necessary.

Demonstrated experience in computer security combined with risk analysis, audit, and compliance objectives and incident response.

Personal computer skills with a general knowledge of standard office tools (MS products) are required.

Experience with DLP and IPS/IDS systems.

Experience working with Managed Security Services Providers (MSSPs),

Experience with performing Web Application and Network vulnerability assessments.

Effective written/verbal communication skills are necessary in order to communicate with all levels of personnel (from end-user to senior management). - Ability to read, to analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.

Ability to apply analytical and interpersonal skills to solve problems across a broad range of situations.

Ability to provide and take direction in the absence of instructions.

Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Basic knowledge of standard computing platform configurations (networks, midrange/mainframe, and telecommunications) is desired.

Highly responsive and proven professionalism in communication, interpersonal, analytical, and organizational skills.

Education & Work Experience:

Associate's degree and/or > 3 -years Information Security experience with a specific focus on security systems design and management, vulnerability management, intrusion event analysis and incident response .

Certifications & Licenses:

CISSP or CISA Certification is preferred.
