Job Description:
Collects and analyzes pertinent data in order to assess risk
factors associated with hospital-acquired infections. Uses
epidemiological data to plan, implement, monitor and evaluate
infection control practices to assure quality, appropriateness of
care, and performance improvement. Acts as a resource/consultant
within the hospital and the community in regards to disease
transmission, isolation/precautions, infection risks, and ways to
reduce and manage these risks.
Education
Bachelors Degree : Microbiology, Medical Technology, Nursing or
Masters Degree : Public Health (Required)
Experience
2 Years experience as an RN in an acute care setting or 2 years
experience as an MT in clinical microbiology or MPH in related area
(Required)
License/Certifications
CIC - Cert Infection Control (Preferred)
