ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Human Resources (HR) Generalist works with all operational departments.
The HR Generalist position supports day-to-day HR activities including, but not limited to, full-cycle recruiting, benefits, HRIS, LOA administration and new employee orientation.
The HR Generalist will serve as an onsite point person for employees and will provide support in alignment with organizational and departmental goals.
The HR Generalist will be responsible for maintaining compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employment.
The HR Generalist will work to build relationships and work in cross functional settings interfacing with employees at all levels within the organization. They will demonstrate a strong HR foundation and operate with a high level of confidentiality, professionalism, responsiveness, and attention to detail.
Primary duties:

  • Aids in recruiting of employees, organizing applications and setting up interviews with hiring managers
  • Update, post and maintain open positions via the applicant tracking system
  • Responsible for screening, interviewing, applicant assessment and presentation of candidates to hiring managers to finalize the recruitment life cycle and assist in hiring decision
  • Prepare new hire offer letter and present to candidate
  • Prepare paperwork, schedule, and facilitate smooth new hire onboarding process
  • Schedule, communicate, and process record checks, DMV Reports, and pre-employment drug screens
  • Compose and update job descriptions as new positions arise
  • Point of contact for potential and current employees for HR related questions and requests
  • Assist in the communication, interpretation, and upkeep of employee handbook and contribute to the development of policies
  • Act as a liaison between employee, brokers, and insurance providers to resolve benefits issues.
  • Plan and conduct bi-weekly new employee orientation
  • Notify hiring managers, IT and Accounting about new hire information, PTO accrual rates, recruitment bonuses, and 90-day review reminders
  • Process terminations via exit surveys, HRIS updates, and provide termination information to employee
  • Schedule and communicate 401k and benefit meetings to employees
  • Create and maintain new and current employee records electronically
  • Coordinate and communicate new and/or recurring events such as engagement surveys, performance management, open enrollment..etc
  • Complete employment verifications, unemployment notices, domestic relations subpoenas..etc.
  • Compile reports concerning personnel-related data, as requested
  • Collaborate with HR Director to develop career progressions and determine compensation ranges
  • Handle all leave administration from the employee's initial notice to their return to work
  • Track LOA information, documentation and provide updates to department managers and accounting team.
  • Assist and participate in investigations and complex employee issues
  • Point of contact for key fob orders, assignments, issues, and system maintenance
  • Continuously update and maintain HRIS system and employee records
  • Assist accounting team to ensure accuracy with YOS bonuses and bi-annual bonus payouts.
  • Schedule, communicate and process all employee clearances for GC's, as requested
  • Continuously evaluate current process to create efficiencies
  • Support the communication, understanding, and implementation of our companies' mission, vision, values and strategy.
  • Perform other duties as assigned Qualifications:
    • Bachelor's degree preferred
    • Strong computer knowledge including experience with MS Office suite is required
    • 3-5 years of experience in HR related functions
    • Excellent record keeping skills and high attention to detail
    • Able to work with all personality types and different levels of management in a professional manner
    • Interpersonal communication, organizational, and problem-solving abilities
    • Self-starter with the ability to operate independently with minimal direction
    • Outstanding oral and written communication skills
