Job Type: Full-time; on-siteJob Location: 12270 Townsend Road Philadelphia, PA 19154Job PurposeEnsure timely and accurate pay to employees, taxes to federal, state, and local authorities, and submission of deductions related to 401K, Health Savings, and other benefit plans.TasksProcess and issue employee paychecks and statements of earnings and deductions.Compute wages and deductions and enter data into payroll software system.Compile employee time and payroll data from time sheets and other records.Review time sheets, wage computations, and other information to detect and reconcile payroll discrepancies.Process paperwork for new employees and enter employee information into the payroll system.Verify attendance, hours worked, and pay adjustments, and post information onto designated records.Record employee information, such as exemptions, transfers, and resignations, to maintain and update payroll records.Issue and record adjustments to pay related to previous errors or retroactive increases.Keep track of leave time, such as vacation, personal, and sick leave for employees.Provide information to employees and managers on payroll matters, tax issues, benefit plans, and collective agreement provisions.Process funding for 401k, HSA, and Flex plans.Records payroll journal entries to the general ledgerProcesses invoices for all benefit related fund transfers and payments in ERPKeep informed about changes in tax and deduction laws that apply to the payroll process.Complete, verify, and process forms and documentation for administration of benefits, such as pension plans, and unemployment and medical insurance.Complete all state level applications for withholding and unemployment accountsReconcile quarterly and annual payroll tax filingsRespond to local, state, and federal inquiries, garnishments, and verification including but not limited to unemployment filingsPrepare year end W2 and ACA form reconciliationsMaintain all spreadsheets to support payrollGenerate, review, and distribute management reports, as requestedAssist with other accounting related duties as assignedMaintains high ethical standard regarding work requirements and strict confidentiality of company and employee informationWork ActivitiesGathering InformationProcessing InformationDocumenting/Recording InformationInteracting With SoftwareCommunicating with Supervisors and PeersEvaluating Information to Determine Compliance with StandardsOrganizing, Planning, and Prioritizing WorkDetailed Work ActivitiesCalculate financial data.Check data for recording errors.Compile data or documentation.Coordinate payroll activities.Distribute materials to employees or vendors.Enter information into databases or software programs.Maintain current knowledge related to work activities.Prepare documentation for transactions, or regulatory compliance.Prepare research or technical reports.Provide information to coworkers.Record personnel information.Train others in payroll procedures.Verify employee information.
