The Bartender's responsibilities include professionally and courteously greeting guests and serving food and beverages at the Hershey Inn & Suites. Job Duties (Duties marked with an asterisk are essential functions of this job): Properly prepare and serve all alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks according to brand specs and menu descriptions.* Maintain a clean work and dining area by removing trash, cleaning tables, and washing glasses, utensils, and equipment.* Greet customers, take orders, and enter orders into the POS system. Use menu knowledge to answer questions, offer suggestions, and anticipate guest needs.* Understand and follow all food safety regulations set by the Department of Agriculture.* Understand and follow all state alcohol service standards and guidelines. Visually assure that age identification is legitimate.* Operate the point of sale system, handle cash, credit, and debit card transactions. Ensure charges are accurate and return correct change to patrons and balance the cash register.* Deliver excellent customer service to each client and monitor patrons to ensure satisfaction with service. Maintain a safe environment by identifying problem clients and having them removed.* Take inventory and order supplies to ensure bar and tables are well-stocked.* Perform all aspects of opening and closing procedures.* Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications: Must be at least 18 years of age or older Must have at least 1 year of bartender experience Certified RAMP certification or obtain certification within 90 days as a condition of employment Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Organizational skills and ability to multitask Ability to read, write, and perform addition/subtraction calculations Ability to remember abbreviations and menu items Must be highly proficient in menu items and descriptions Ability to work independently without close supervision Ability to work in a fast-paced environment Ability to use a POS system Job Demands: Physical requirements include walking and standing most of the shift, stooping, bending, pushing, pulling, and lifting up to 25lbs.
