Description: The role of the Food Services Coordinator is to ensure
the nutritional and dietary needs of program participants are met.
The primary responsibilities of the Food Service Coordinator will
include preparing and cooking meals, ensuring compliance with
menus, sanitation, and safety regulations; interacting with
participants; and facilitating communication. The Food Services
Coordinator is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the
kitchen; nutritional menu planning; cooking; establishing cleaning
and maintenance schedules; maintaining high sanitation standards;
and maintaining accurate inventory of dietary supplies and
household equipment. Essential Functions: Prepare all meals under
the direction of the Division Director Responsible for providing
healthy and unique meals in a family style setting, and providing a
high quality vegetarian option at all times. Plan and write house
menus to include alternate menus for special diets and ensure that
they are followed. Post menus and nutritional information on
bulletin boards located in the kitchen area, office area and
community area in accordance with Personal Care Home Licensing
Codes. Plan and control special diets. Estimate food consumption in
determining type and quantity of foods to be prepared. Order all
food and house supplies on a weekly basis in a fiscally responsible
manner. Sign for all food deliveries and check order for accuracy.
Ensure that all meals are ready and served on time. Ensure that all
food served is attractive, palatable and nutritious. Maintain the
cleanliness of the kitchen area and delegate different areas of
sanitation to residential and housekeeping staff. Maintain the
cleanliness of refrigerators and freezers and ensure that all food
is properly covered and stored. Ensure that all kitchen equipment
is in proper working condition and in compliance with Personal Care
Home Licensing Codes. Assume the responsibility for planning
special functions with the Division Director, Program Supervisor
and/or Program Coordinator. Perform job within framework of agency,
site and professional standards. Participate in staff meetings and
training programs. Participate in supervision on an on-going basis.
Attend and participate in agency events. Adhere to agency/site
policies and procedures. Project a positive attitude and image to
residents, family members, and outside contacts. Use appropriate
communication channels. Complete assignments independently, within
specified time frames. Participate in achievement of agency goals
and mission. Demonstrate the ability to take direction. Adhere to
the request of the Division Director. Cooperate with other agency
staff and exhibit a positive attitude toward position and agency
mission. Show initiative and demonstrate good judgement.
Participate in shifts as scheduled by the Division Director. Follow
instructions accurately and thoroughly. Respond appropriately to
emergency situations. Transport clients as necessary/appropriate.
Display motivation and interest in working creatively with people
who have physical and or mental disabilities. Demonstrate the
ability to make sound judgements regarding the welfare of clients.
Process knowledge of basic principles and methods of
rehabilitation. Follow expected dress code. Work as scheduled to
assure coverage. Performs job in a safe manner. Reports/addresses
safety concerns in a timely manner. Performs other duties or
special projects as required or as assigned. Other Functions:
Attends and participates in regular supervision. Responds
appropriately to emergency situations. Performs job within
framework of agency, site, and professional standards. Participates

in agency events. Adheres to agency/site policies and procedures
including HIPAA requirements. Cooperates and coordinates with
Regional Director on all operational issues. Projects a positive

and mission. Displays motivation and interest in working creatively
with people who have mental illness/disabilities. Demonstrates the

served. Displays ability to take direction. Demonstrates knowledge
of basic principles and methods of clinical psychology and
psychiatric rehabilitation. Follows agency dress code. Adheres to
supervisor's requests. Cooperates with other staff and exhibit
positive attitude toward position and agency. Contributes to the
growth and development of services. Shows initiative and
demonstrate good judgement. Follows instructions accurately and

manner. Qualifications: Required Education: High School Diploma or
GED Preferred Education: High School Diploma or GED Field of study:
General Studies Work Experience: 2 to 3 years Certifications,
Licenses, Registrations Required: Valid Driver's License Knowledge,
Skills and Abilities: Food services certification preferred.
Culinary degree or equivalent experience preferred. Certification
in food service sanitation preferred. Cooking for groups of 20+ is
preferred. Prepares and cook meals that demonstrate the 5
characteristics of food: Taste, Temperature, Aroma, Presentation,
and Texture. Skills in facilitating training on dietary and
sanitation needs. Demonstrate knowledge of basic math skills when
maintaining a budget including cost analysis. Demonstrate interest
and aptitude for increasing skill level and acquiring new skills
relative to food service. Exhibit the following competencies:
dependability, team player, job knowledge, initiative, problem
solving, communication, conflict resolution, leadership, and
delegation. Exhibit strong attention to detail and the ability to
prioritize work effectively in an environment with competing
demands. Knowledge of proper sanitation and hygiene. Knowledge of
healthy menus. Knowledge of proper food portions and weights.
Knowledge of nutrition and special diet planning. Ability to
organize kitchen and storage rooms. Motivation, interest, and
ability to provide service for people who have disabilities (mental
illness, physical, emotional, cognitive, etc.) with significant
high-risk behaviors and on-going behavioral management/treatment.
Excellent oral and written communication skills; comfortable
speaking in front of groups. Knowledge of Microsoft Office
processing systems (Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.) Ability to take
direction as well as direct others when necessary. Ability to
handle multiple tasks. Valid driver's license and willingness to
drive agency vehicles. Knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
Strong collaborating skills, and an ability to work effectively
both independently and as part of a team. Comfortable in a
fast-paced environment with frequent deadlines; high energy,
self-motivated and proactive. Excellent communication and
interpersonal skills. Ability to multitask and be flexible with
regard to workload and assignments. Ability to exercise judgment.
