How You Will ContributeWorking under limited supervision, this
-individual -ensures the safety and security of our building from
staff to the precious art collection. - The successful candidate
will demonstrate the ability to work independently as well as with
a team of support staff and will have demonstrated supervisory
experience. -
Specifically, you will:
Monitor building access, CCTV, and
emergency response systems located at all museum locationsMake
frequent safety and security rounds maintaining the integrity of
the building throughout the tour.Be responsible for the timely and
accurate reporting and completion of documentation related to
reportable incidents; file and investigate incident reports;
complete and distribute daily incident summary reports; be
responsible for any necessary follow-up on reportsOversee a
security team responsible for ensuring the protection of people and
art work at the museumDistribute materials and equipment such as
keys, radios, and property passes -as necessaryBe responsible for
emergency response activities including alarm response for entire
campus, coordination of officer dispatch, serve as point of contact
for Philadelphia police and fire departments, notification to
-senior staff, -and dispatch patrol vehicle as neededVerify
functionality of alarms; conduct and document fire alarm testing
-Report and coordinate maintenance, janitorial, and pest issues
with appropriate departments -Your background and experience
include:
A track record of success with
analysis, problem solving, and decision making in a cooperative and
coordinated planning environment Strong written and verbal
communication skillsAbility to remain calm and focused in
emergenciesWorking knowledge of emergency response and building
security systems including access control, CCTV, and intrusion
detection is a mustComputer proficiency -Previous related security
experience in a similar settingPrevious supervisory experience in
the security and protection services industry is preferredAbility
to work independently and also as part of a teamCourteous and
friendly mannerA high school diploma or GEDAbility to work at all
museum locations -Position and Compensation Details
- The hourly rate for this position is
$18.50This position is full-time, non-exempt, and 40 hours per
weekThis position consists of a varied schedule including nights,
weekends, and holidaysThis position reports to the Director of
Protection ServicesPhysical requirements:Able to remain stationary
for extended periods of time, to utilize computers and other office
equipment required of this job, to perform physically
administrative duties in a typical interior office environment,
gallery, or exhibit space, and to access most public and staff
areas of the museum campus
- Must be able to perform the essential duties of the role for
the entirety of the shift (up to 8 hours)
- Must be able to access all areas of the museum campus to
perform security rounds COVID-19 vaccination required.Background
check required after a conditional job offer is made. Consideration
