store is located at 4167 Main St, in the bustling -Manayunk
neighborhood of Philadelphia.What is the employment opportunity?
-We are seeking an Assistant Store Manager to grow our pet retail
business and lead our team of passionate pet professionals. This is
a full-time position and requires having open availability. This
role includes the following responsibilities:Store Operations
Build relationships with customers
and provide assistance, provide product education, address
individual needs, and create a personalized experience to promote
repeat businessPerform customer transactions on the POS system;
manage the POS system's software and hardware; manage the cash
drawerSeek customer feedback on products and processes to increase
customer satisfactionAssist Store Manager with weekly purchasing
needsManage distributor and independent vendor deliveries - handle
receiving, counting, putting away items, organizing the stock room,
etc.Manage product pricing, price tags and signage throughout the
storeManage ongoing inventory management, ensuring rotation,
accurate counts, etc.Participate in the creation and management of
events: adoption, training, nail clinics, and Main St sponsored
events (StrEAT Fest, Arts Fest, Dog Day of Summer, etc.)Perform
local home deliveries for online orders on an as-needed basisSales
Growth
Assist with maintaining special order
requests, pickups and deliveriesResponsible for meeting monthly
individual and team sales goals and quarterly KPIsWork closely with
the Store Manager to Identify and implement new product/service
lines to increase profitabilityAssist Store Manager with creating
and promoting sales each monthCoordinate the promotion of sales and
events with Social Media Manager Team Management
Manage a team of associates during
their scheduled shiftsAssist employees with meeting their
individual and team sales goalsWork closely with Store Manager to
craft and publish associate shift scheduleAssist with the creation
of quarterly reviews and provide feedback with Store
ManagerOnboarding & Training: assisting with the onboarding
process, training new hires, writing training processes, providing
feedback with new employeesMaintain Google Drive suite of team
documents - announcements, training guides, etc.Provide support to
the Store Manager for any duties and assigned special projects This
is not an exhaustive list of job responsibilities and individual
duties may change/adaptWho is an ideal candidate? -We are seeking
candidates with the following experience:
- At least 1 year of experience directly related to managing a
retail store, employees, and sales operations (pet retail is a
bonus!)
- Ideal candidates have experience working with animals (retail,
vets, daycares, dog walking, etc.)Job Requirements -- Candidates
must also meet the following requirements:
- Be willing and available to work evenings and weekends, as well
as some holidays
- Be able to stand for long periods of time and be able to lift
up to 50 lbs or more on occasion
- Have a reliable vehicle of your own to get to/from work and
make occasional deliveries
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- Own a smartphone with internet access
- Be willing to submit to a full criminal background check
- Be able to carry out all of the job tasks listed in the job
description

Manager role is an hourly position, -with compensation rates
varying based on experience and job duties. This is a W2 position -
we'll provide ongoing training and support from our dedicated team
