Job Description:
The Team Leader is responsible for utilization management by
conducting utilization review activities, population management,
cross-system consultation, provider management and treatment
quality monitoring. The Team Leader must utilize clinical knowledge
of best practices and evidence based treatments to ensure CBH
members receive timely access to quality, medically necessary
behavioral health services. When clinically indicated, Team Leaders
consult with CBH Physician and Psychologist Advisors to ensure the
most effective treatment for the CBH member is being authorized.
Essential Functions: Provides leadership to the team in conjunction
with or in the absence of the team Supervisor. Completes essential
functions of a Clinical Care Manager.Trains and orients new
Clinical Care Managers, CBH Staff and Visiting
Professionals.Creates and maintains team documents which may
include schedules, routine data collection and team organizational
tools.Makes grievance assignments; notify outcomes of grievances
and other administrative tasks.Consults with physicians regarding
denials, length of stay and psychiatric evaluations.Meets with
other team leaders and collaborate with different systems and
agencies via telephone, email and in meetings.Participates in
interviews for new hires.Team Specific Responsibilities:Manage and
coordinate care by conducting telephonic and on-site reviews,
obtaining clinical information to determine medical necessity for
authorization of care and helping to guide aftercare planning and
reviewing evaluations. Meet with other team leaders and collaborate
with different systems and agencies via telephone, email and in
meetings.Position Requirements: Education: Master's degree in
Social Work or related field or Registered
NurseLicense/Certification: License eligible and willing/able to
obtain licensure within the first year of employment; PA Child
Abuse Clearance requiredRelevant Work Experience: Minimum of 2
years of post-graduate, direct clinical care experience working
with adults, children, adolescents and their families in behavioral
health settings and experience in assessment and treatment planning
Skills:Excellent clinical case conceptualization skillsMeeting
facilitationProactive planningCustomer serviceFamiliar with
medicationsExcellent verbal and written communication skills and
ability to use them when communicating with internal and external
stakeholders. Excellent interpersonal and collaboration
skillsProficient in MS Office, especially with Excel, and able to
type at least 40 words per minuteAbility to work independently and
as part of a teamExcellent time management and prioritization
skills and ability to multi-taskCompliant with HIPAA regulations
