We look forward to you joining our team.Sous ChefThe Sous Chef position at World Cafe Live offers a great opportunity for a talented, creative, and energetic culinary professional to bring their dedication and excitement to two unique spaces in Philadelphia, as well as develop new opportunities. The World Cafe Live footprint includes both The Lounge (a restaurant and bar that accommodates 140 seated or 220 standing), and The Music Hall that comfortably seats 300 and expands to accommodate 650 standing. In each space you can expect flawless sound, lighting, and video, on-site production and catering, flexible seating, and adjacent secure parking. Reporting directly to the Director of Food & Beverage, the Sous Chefs will support all aspects of both a la carte and event catering execution.Core Responsibilities: enforce and maintain all standards and procedures as issued by the Executive Chef in relation to all kitchen activity and equipmentmaintain ServSafe certification and enforce and maintain all Office of Food Protection Health and Safety standardsprepare line cooks for any/all a la carte or event servicespreform all duties of a lead line cook or expo as needed to execute servicecheckout line cooks and close down kitchen at conclusion of service or eventparticipate in feature creation and executioncomplete entering of food invoices into kitchen inventory software as needed or assigned by required deadlinescomplete all orders after detailed walkthrough of current inventory and ensuring that all product needed is in house in correct quantitiesmaintain working knowledge of current vendors for all food sources/equipment maintenanceattend weekly events meetings and any other required meetings as assignedassisting leadership in maintaining budgetary labor and food cost goalssupport monthly inventory and weekly schedulingThe successful candidate will possess the following attributes: Positive attitude, especially in challenging or high pressure situationsTeam oriented mindset, with the ability to work autonomouslyMinimum of four years of experience in high volume kitchenAbility to become an integral part of the process of meeting or exceeding organizational goalsReliable transportation to venue locationAbility to multi-task in a high-paced atmosphereProven ability to be responsive in a timely manner via phone and emailAvailability to work flexible hours primarily including nights and weekendsAbility to stand for long periods of time and lift up to 50lbs of weightCompensation: This is a full-time position for approx. 40-50 hours a week with an annual salary range of ($48,000-$52,000) commensurate with experience. Additional benefits include: PTO plan, 401k options, travel and cell phone reimbursement credits, and healthcare packages.Please note that as of 9/17 we are asking all WCL employees to be fully vaccinated from COVID-19Job Type: Full-timePay: $48,000.00 - $52,000.00 per year
