Job Description Primary Care Physician – Clinic (Perm) VHS is seeking a dedicated and highly qualified Primary Care Physician to join our team at the Schuykill County VA Clinic in Pottsville, PA. This vital role involves providing comprehensive outpatient primary medical services to Veterans, ensuring high-quality care within a collaborative team environment. Overview: As a Primary Care Physician at our VA outpatient clinic, you will be responsible for delivering patient-centered care to enrolled Veterans, supervising clinic operations, and leading a multidisciplinary team. Your expertise will help improve health outcomes, promote patient engagement, and ensure compliance with all regulatory standards. This role is ideal for physicians committed to making a meaningful difference in the lives of Veterans while maintaining clinical excellence. Required Skills: - Board certification or eligibility in Internal Medicine or Family Practice (ABMS or BOS) - Valid medical license in Pennsylvania - Prescriptive authority - Ability to perform Women's Health exams (training provided if necessary) - BLS certification through AHA or MTN - Proven experience in outpatient primary care - Strong communication and leadership skills - Ability to pass a VA background check - Commitment to patient confidentiality and safety Nice to Have Skills: - Experience working in a VA or federal healthcare setting - Familiarity with telehealth and care coordination - Additional certifications in geriatrics, chronic disease management, or other relevant specialties Preferred Education and Experience: - Medical degree from an accredited institution - At least 2 years of outpatient primary care experience - Prior experience working with Veterans or in a government healthcare environment Other Requirements: - Willingness to undergo VA-specific training, including Women's Health exams - Ability to respond swiftly to medical emergencies within the clinic - Availability for full-time or part-time work, with flexibility for 20-30 hours per week if desired This is a rewarding opportunity to serve Veterans in a supportive environment with competitive hourly pay ranging from $135 to $150.
