Job Description:
MedStar Health is seeking a highly qualified System Sr. Director
of Nursing Research to lead and expand our nursing research
initiatives across all facilities. This role involves overseeing
the development of research protocols, managing grant applications,
and promoting the integration of evidence-based practices into
clinical settings. Working closely with clinical staff and
administrative leadership, the Sr. Director will ensure that
nursing research aligns with the strategic objectives of MedStar
Health and enhances the quality of patient care. The ideal
candidate will demonstrate a robust background in healthcare
research, leadership, and a passion for clinical excellence and
innovation. Develop and implement a strategic plan for nursing
research aligned with organizational goals. Manage the nursing
research operations, including budgeting and staff oversight.
Facilitate collaborations within MedStar and with external research
entities. Oversee the submission of grants and handle regulatory
compliance for all research activities. Promote and support the
dissemination of research findings through publications and
presentations. Mentor and develop nursing staff in research
methodologies and evidence-based practices. Expertise in
quantitative and qualitative research methodologies. Strong
leadership and managerial skills. Grant writing and management.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to foster
a collaborative and innovative research environment. Medical

Current Registered Nurse (RN) license. Certification in Clinical
Research (e.g., SoCRA, ACRP) preferred.
