Job Description Job Description /n /n Manages team members,
operations, and patient care activities of a patient care unit
during assigned shift. Maintains a professional work environment
that supports delivery of high-quality patient and family centered
care. /n Job Responsibility /n /n 1.Manages and leads team members,
operations and patient care activities within a patient care unit
during assigned shift. /n 2.Collaborates with team members and
nursing management in the development of methods, techniques and
analytical approach to patient care. /n 3.Communicates, builds
consensus, and guides team members toward achieving department
objectives. /n 4.Promotes and maintains high quality patient and
family centered care in a healing environment. /n 5.Creates a
professional work environment that encourages team member respect,
engagement, accountability and optimal patient outcomes. /n
6.Promotes appreciative inquiry and evidence-based, ethical and
compassionate practice. /n 7.Provides direction and guidance to
patient care unit team members during assigned shift. /n 8.May
conduct performance reviews and provide input into hiring,
promotions and corrective actions. /n 9.Serves as a role model for
standards of professional practice (clinical, educational and
leadership). /n 10.Educates team members in new and existing
department procedures and systems (information systems, fiscal
responsibility, etc.). /n 11.Provides input on department budget
allocations to nursing management. /n 12.Ensures adherence to the
established care delivery model, using knowledge of scope and
standards of practice. /n 13.Faciliates continual patient care unit
compliance with the JC, CMS, New York State, DOH, Public Health
Law, HIPPA regulations and System, hospital and department
standards. /n 14.Demonstrates core clinical competencies for
patient population of oversight in order to supervise and provide
direct patient care. /n 15.Maintains current knowledge of scope and
standards of practice, healthcare legislation, and population
health. /n 16.Interprets policies, procedures and technical methods
for team members. /n 17.Identifies opportunities and makes
recommendations that improve patient care delivery and team
effectiveness using evidence-based strategies and solutions. /n
18.Performs related duties as required. All responsibilities noted

Qualification /n /n Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) required. /n
Current license to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in
New York State, required. /n Specialized certifications, as needed.
/n 4-6 years of nursing experience and 0-2 years of
leadership/management experience, required. /n /n - Current
Oncology Nurse Certification in New York State required. /n /n
