Job Description:
The Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP) is seeking a highly skilled
Clinical Psychologist dedicated to providing top-tier mental health
services within our correctional facilities. This pivotal role
involves assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of mental health
issues among our diverse inmate population. The successful
candidate will be actively involved in enhancing psychological
well-being, fostering rehabilitation, and ensuring the mental
health needs of inmates are met compassionately and in accordance
with current clinical standards. Conduct psychological assessments
and evaluations to determine the mental health status and needs of
inmates. Develop, implement, and review treatment plans that
address psychological issues and promote mental health. Provide
individual and group therapy sessions tailored to the unique needs
of a correctional environment. Collaborate with other healthcare
professionals to integrate psychological treatment with overall
inmate healthcare. Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings
and contribute to the development of inmate management plans. Lead
crisis interventions as needed and provide consultation on issues
related to inmate behavior and mental health. Document all clinical
activities and decisions accurately and comprehensively in
accordance with BOP policies and legal requirements. Expertise in
psychological assessment tools and techniques. Strong clinical
skills in therapy and crisis intervention. Ability to handle
complex cases with professionalism and ethical judgment. Excellent
written and verbal communication skills. Competency in dealing with
a diverse, and challenging population. Medical Insurance Dental
Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance Valid and current state
license as a Clinical Psychologist. Proof of completion of an
APA-accredited internship. Any additional training or certification
in forensic psychology is highly regarded but not required.
