apply.A Brief OverviewParticipates in a planned research project by
performing research protocols. Works independently and
self-directed while providing supervision and technical training to
subordinates. Needs a specialized education in the biological or
chemical sciences and is required to consistently exercise
discretion and judgment in execution, interpretation of
experiments, and of data derived.What you will doPerforms lab tests
which require the analysis of results and interpretation of
methodsPerforms research procedures on experimental samples as
directedAssists with planning specific research protocols and
proceduresAssists in development & troubleshooting of new
techniques and ideasModifies methods and protocols under the
direction of the PIFormulates and performs complex lab experiments
and analyzes & reports the dataPresents & discusses work at weekly
lab meetingsPrepares laboratory reagents and monitors and maintains
inventoryPerforms calculations and maintains appropriate log books
and lab notebooksAssists in writing methods and setting-up
protocols accurately under the direction of the program director or
senior scientistMaintains laboratory equipment, safety procedures
and compliance recordsResearches journal, white papers and other
scientific publications for pertinent informationAssists with the
preparation of data for publication or presentation at symposiaMay
supervises junior members of laboratory.Education
QualificationsBachelor's Degree RequiredExperience QualificationsAt
least three (3) years of scientifically relevant experience
RequiredAt least five (5) years of scientifically relevant
experience PreferredSkills and AbilitiesProficient in various
research and/or analytical techniques requiredTo carry out its
