23001215 ) The University of Pittsburgh Office of Child Development
is seeking a qualified Developmental Specialist, based in the
greater Philadelphia area. The Specialist will provide on-site
trauma-informed mental health consultation in Early Head Start
classrooms and related community settings to teachers, parents,
caregivers, and team members. The candidate will support the
inclusion of infants and toddlers (birth-three) who may exhibit
challenging behaviors, medical conditions, and/or developmental
delays or disabilities. -Responsibilities include:
- Provide and promote classroom wide social-emotional
strategies/interventions
- Observe referred children, create/implement developmental
plans, and monitor progress
- Collaborate with families and partnering agency
- Link families to community services and programs
- Facilitate professional development trainings and lead
parent/family groups.The position will be based out of the
Philadelphia Council of Three Rivers American Indian Center
(COTRAIC) office. NOT PITTSBURGH CAMPUS.A Bachelor's degree in
early childhood education, special education, psychology, social
work, or related discipline required. A Master's degree in related
field is preferred. Two to three years of teaching experience in
early childhood education, intervention, development, or special
needs preferred. Child Protection Clearances required prior to
start. TB test within 30 days of hire. Act 33 and 73 clearances and
TB test within 30 days of hire. The University of Pittsburgh is
