Resources for Human Development is currently hiring for a Psychiatrist with our Philadelphia ACT program!The psychiatrist is responsible for supporting the psychiatric needs of the people served at the program, via medication management and collaboration with the other members of the treatment team. The psychiatrist assures that the needs of the consumers and the program are met in accordance with the Values of RHD, the policies of RHD, the standards of DSAMH and CARF.   • Provision of emergency services in person or by telephone as needed to assure appropriate care in time of crisis and during inpatient hospitalizations
  • Provision of services and completion of tasks in accordance with RHD Values, DSAMH standards, CARF standards, and Medicaid regulations.Administrative
    • Daily documentation of consumers' progress and response to all medications
    • Ordering and reviewing medications and laboratory tests
    • Completion of documentation as required by the above entities and as needed for consumers to receive optimal and appropriate services while at the program.Community Support
      • Representation at court for consumers who are under civil commitment.
      • Communication with community representatives as needed to support the well-being of the consumers at the program.
      • Any other duties as assignedRequired Experience and Education:
        • At least three years of experience working with individuals with serious mental illness
        • At least three years of experience working in an outpatient setting for adults with serious mental illness
        • MD in Psychiatry, Dr. of Osteopathy, or any other medical degree with Board Certification in Psychiatry or has served a residency in psychiatry with prescribing privileges in the State of Operation.Required Qualifications:
          • Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team for the purpose of providing person-centered services
          • Excellent written and oral communication skillsProgram Summary:Assertive community treatment (ACT) is an evidence-based psychiatric practice that provides a team-based, comprehensive approach to care for individuals with severe mental illness. ACT uses a multidisciplinary team, which typically includes a psychiatrist, a nurse, and at least two case managers. Increasingly, these teams are also incorporating certified peer specialists to assist with engagement and the recovery process. ACT is characterized by (1) low client to staff ratios (no more than 10 clients per staff member); (2) providing services in the community; (3) shared caseloads among team members; (4) 24-hour availability of the team, (5) direct provision of all services by the team rather than referral; and (6) time-unlimited services. RHD will deliver services enhancing the sense of competency and self-efficacy of participants and assisting them in remaining in the least restrictive environment and community of choice.RHD employees and programs in the City of Philadelphia are required to follow the COVID vaccine mandate. The City of Philadelphia has issued an Emergency Regulation Governing the Control and Prevention of COVID-19 Mandating Vaccines for Healthcare Workers and in Higher Education, Healthcare, and Related Settings("Vaccine Mandate Regulation"), which mandates vaccine for healthcare workers and in higher education, healthcare, and related settings. This mandate became effective on August 16, 2021 and requires Healthcare Workers and certain workers at Healthcare Institutions to be fully vaccinated by October 15, 2021. Fully vaccinated means it has been two weeks since the final dose of the vaccine. The regulation does allow individuals to apply to RHD for an exemption based on a sincerely held religious belief that would prohibit vaccination for COVID-19 or because of medical conditions that preclude administration of one of the available vaccines.Resources for Human Development is an equal opportunity employer.
