Responsibilities This position is responsible for caseload management, reviewing cases for mental health court, providing assistance to the mental health and researching/ correcting authorization irregularities, denials, oversight of appeals process, and coordination of insurance process information with billing and finance office. The Mental Health Court Coordinator responsibilities involve extensive planning, organizing, coordinating, and monitoring activities in accordance with policies and procedures, and judicial standards. The position is responsible for complete work product including data collection, word processing, providing team members with guidance, assistance, training, and/or mentoring that may be necessary. The core responsibilities for this position are: (1) Caseload Management (2) Liaison (3) Administrative (4) Appeals & Denials management (5) Other duties as assigned. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Caseload Management: --- Responsible for the expedited movement of qualified cases into Mental Health --- Process eligible cases through the system in an organized and timely manner --- Update both teams with new case information and status of existing cases weekly --- Learn appropriate state statutes and best practices that affect the programs Liaison: --- Develop and maintain cooperative working relationships with State Attorney, Defense Counsel, Treatment Providers, local law enforcement, Probation, Judiciary and community resources --- Serve as liaison between team members and the court --- Responsible for continued and frequent contact with interested parties for the purpose of clarifying intent, explaining rationale, advising of appropriate or desired course of action, securing information and coordinating court services --- Consult with the Mental Health Judges on a wide range of organizational and managerial issues including but not limited to the Court's efficiency and internal and external quality assurance Administrative: --- Maintain case records, including the number of cases for court --- Perform various other diverse tasks and assignments as required in connection with the operation of specific mental health court --- Organize and coordinate training for Mental Health Court --- Monitor day-to-day activities of Mental Health Court Denials & Appeals Coordinator: --- Processing and overseeing utilization review functions, including researching and correcting authorization irregularities, identification and review of pended insurance authorizations, submission and oversight of appeals processes, coordination of insurance process information with billing and finance office, scheduling and coordination of appeals. Process with hospital administration for medical assistance retrospective and administrate appeals --- Works closely with the Resource Office Manager & Director of Case management to proactively identify and resolve potential insurance/review issues --- Works appropriate denial & appeals reportsQualifications

  • Ability to: --- Interact with patient with mental illness -
  • Deal politely, effectively, and professionally with patients from various backgrounds, who are experiencing a variety of stressful conditions
  • Effectively interpret general policy, criteria, and procedures for specific situations
  • Prepare and deliver detailed reports to the court orally and in writing -
  • Establish and maintain working relationships and interact with agencies, judges, and treatment providers -
  • Maintain confidentially as appropriate -
  • Maintain detailed and accurate records
  • Train others as needed -
  • Attend seminars and conferences as necessary -
  • Travel between buildings for court preparation Research and resolve authorization issues
  • Follow up on unresolved authorization and appeal issues
  • Trend payer issues
  • Communicate effectively with other departments within the network EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in sociology, psychology, criminology or a related field and one years of professional experience in mental health setting, special education setting, or mental health case management/coordinatorConditions of Employment Since this position will require the selected candidate to engage in regular contact with children in the form of care, guidance, supervision or training, you will be required to meet the requirements of the Child Protective Services Act, - including the Pennsylvania State Police criminal background check, the Pennsylvania Department of Welfare child abuse criminal background clearance, and an FBI finger print based federal criminal records check. - The selected candidate will not be allowed to commence working until all three (3) are completed satisfactorily.Closing Statement Einstein Healthcare Network is a private, not for profit organization with several major facilities and many outpatient centers.
