Responsibilities

The professional Registered Nurse (RN) is accountable for the protection, promotion, and optimization of health and abilities, prevention of illness and injury, alleviation of suffering through the diagnosis and treatment of human response and advocacy in the care of individuals, families, communities, and populations. The RN is responsible to practice according to the Scope & Standards of Practice to include assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation and evaluation. In addition, the RN is responsible to maintain standards of professional practice including quality of practice, education, professional practice evaluation, collegiality, collaboration, ethics, research, resource utilization and leadership.

The RN is responsible to practice according to the Nursing theory of Benner, Primacy of Caring as described in the nursing philosophy.

Qualifications

Education:

• Nursing graduate from an approved school for registered nurses.
  Experience:
  
  • Ability to appropriately and effectively initiate and implement all phases of nursing process.
  • Demonstrates current knowledge of nursing practice in areas of clinical responsibility.
  • Ability to work and effectively communicate with peers, supervisors, and subordinates and other health care members in the provision are patient care.
    Licensure/Certification/Registration Requirements:
    
    • Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania or Graduate Nurse with Temporary Practice Permit. Maintains current licensure
    • BCLS current
    • Certification in clinical practice area preferred.
    • Membership in Professional Organization encouraged

      Covid Vaccination is a requirement for employment at Jefferson for employees working at Jefferson's clinical entities or at the University.       Conditions of Employment
      
      Since this position will require the selected candidate to engage in regular contact with children in the form of care, guidance, supervision or training, you will be required to meet the requirements of the Child Protective Services Act, including the Pennsylvania State Police criminal background check, the Pennsylvania Department of Welfare child abuse criminal background clearance, and an FBI finger print based federal criminal records check. The selected candidate will not be allowed to commence working until all three (3) are completed satisfactorily.
