Summary of Job:
Medical Science Liaisons (MSLs) at Kyowa Kirin are the field-based
extension of our Medical Affairs department. MSLs are
scientifically trained professionals who possess strong clinical
and/or scientific backgrounds whose role is to be a resource of
fair-balanced and scientifically rigorous information to our
customers.
This territory will cover the following state: KY, WV, VA, OH, PA,
NJ, MD, DE and Washington DC. Requires up to 70% domestic and
international travel.
Essential Requirements:
Identify, establish and maintain professional relationships.
Dialogue with national, regional, and local key opinion leaders,
allied health care professionals, and patient advocacy groups
Educate healthcare professionals and managed markets decision
makers on Kyowa Kirin's product portfolio.
Ensure the appropriate dissemination of transparent, fair-balanced
scientific and clinical information, knowledge and services in a
timely, compliant, ethical and customer-focused manner.
Function as a regional medical/scientific resource and work to pair
customer needs with available Kyowa Kirin resources.
Support clinical research activities (investigator initiated and
company sponsored).
Facilitate speaker development and training.
Engage in timely and fair-balanced scientific exchange with local
Health Care Professionals (HCP) in response to unsolicited requests
for information related to Kyowa Kirin's products and/or scientific
areas of interest.
Attend and provide scientific support at national, regional, and
local medical conferences.
Actively participate in advisory boards and clinical investigator
meetings.
Provide quality and appropriate feedback to headquarters and
manager based on field interactions with healthcare thought
leaders.
Adhere to all company policies and legal, compliance and regulatory
guidelines
Education
Advanced clinical/science degree or health care professional
credentials required (MD, PhD, RPh, PharmD, DO, NP, PA, MS or
equivalent)
Experience
Minimum 3 years MSL experience strongly preferred for MSL; 5 years
MSL experience required for Sr. MSL consideration
Other field-based or customer-facing positions considered if
possess expertise in the disease state
Rare Disease experience preferred
Knowledge of treatment guidelines, clinical research processes, FDA
regulations and OIG guidelines preferred.
Technical Skills
Proficient in MS Office Suite and aptitude to learn other programs
such as Customer Relationship Management software
Non-Technical Skills
Outstanding interpersonal skills, including building strong working
relationships, and managing and resolving conflict
Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, listening, and
presentation)
Results oriented

Proven track record of success
Current knowledge of all relevant industry, legal and regulatory
compliance guidelines
Commitment to the highest ethical, legal, regulatory and scientific
standards.
