Responsibilities

• Performs within the legal framework of the nursing profession as defined by the Nurse Practice Act of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
• Actively engaged in work designed to sustain and maintain Magnet Recognition Program - accreditation (identifying and submitting 'evidence,' active mentorship and participation in Staff Nurse Leader group activities, preparing unit for Magnet Appraiser site visit activities, etc.).
• Exhibits understanding and use of the Professional Practice Models:
• Care Delivery Model 'Excellence in Caring' Shared Governance Model: Professional Practice Committees Professional Development Model: 'Novice to Expert'
• Decision-making and leadership activities demonstrate ethical behaviors in accordance with TJUH policy and the ANA Code of Ethics for Nurses.
• Demonstrates consistent adherence to HIPAA guidelines.
• Uses the nursing process in providing professional nursing care based on established nursing care standards, policies and procedures.QualificationsEDUCATIONAL/TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:
  • BSN required
  • Provider in Basic Cardiac Life Support, and advanced Cardiac Life Support in critical care units as described by TJUH policy.
  • Maintain certifications as required by the Department of Nursing
