Summary/Objective The Operations Manager is responsible for the day-to-day leadership, performance management and the overall successful operation of an individual location. The OM provides general direction and ongoing training to reporting department, to ensure operational success and strategic alignment with Company policies and procedures. The OM works closely with Leads and Co-Managers to ensure members receive exceptional customer service from a friendly staff, in a clean and well-maintained facility. General Accountabilities Develops and maintains qualified staff as it pertains to each reporting department. Manages multiple aspects of inventory control, payroll budget, daily income reconciliations, shift coverage and general club cleaning and maintenance Educates staff of proper company policies and procedure Performs duties normally associated with supervisory position, such as hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, and disciplinary counseling for each department. Performs all necessary supervisory functions to effectively and efficiently manage the reporting departments Communicates areas of accountability and performance expectations to direct reports Recommends rate adjustments, transfers, promotions and dismissals. Develops individuals for future advancement. Provides additional and ongoing training as necessary, and as it relates to software, policies, procedures, and techniques. Conducts staff meetings on regular basis. Fosters a cooperative and harmonious working climate to maximize employee morale and productivity. Attends management meetings and participates in training seminars as requested or needed. Maintains a favorable working relationship with all other company employees to foster aid. Ensures proper execution of all Company strategies, procedures, and techniques. Keeps immediate supervisor promptly and fully informed of all problems or unusual matters of significance and takes prompt corrective action where necessary or suggests alternative courses of action which may be taken Ensures completion of various daily, weekly and monthly tasks and reports, in a timely and accurate manner, as assigned or requested by management. Reviews and completes payroll task as assigned. Approves/disapproves as appropriate, and submits information, as requested, in a timely manner. Solicits and reacts accordingly to positive and negative member feedback. Represents the company in a professional manner at all times. Performs other duties and responsibilities as required or requested. . Required Education and Experience Must have GED or High School or Equivalency Prior experience supervising and developing staff is required Food Serv-Safe certified not required for hire, but may be a condition of employment depending on the employment location Supervisory Responsibility The Operations Mangers serves as the immediate supervisor to all Front-Line Advisors, ProShop (location specific), Juice-Bar (location specific) and Cleaning Staff. The OM is accountable for the overall performance management and on-going maintenance of each reporting department. Work Environment This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This is a full time position that requires a physical onsite presence and a minimum of 40 scheduled hours per work week. Unless otherwise specified, days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 10am to 7pm. Evening and weekend work may be required as job duties or special projects demand. Schedule alterations must be approved in advance by the direct supervisor TravelThis positions requires a minimum amount of travel.
